No president has a said racist bigoted things at this level? Has anybody heard or read about the Nixon tapes?
In Tapes, Nixon Rails About Jews and Blacks

Quote:
Richard M. Nixon made disparaging remarks about Jews, blacks, Italian-Americans and Irish-Americans in a series of extended conversations with top aides and his personal secretary, recorded in the Oval Office 16 months before he resigned as president.

What is stupid is Trump’s desire to tape himself.

IMO, I think it's quite possible that because the president is a self-proclaimed germaphobe, his first thought was that they'd be bringin' disease over here----and, I'd bet almost anything, that the reason he used Norway, was because Norway was on his mind,

While I admit he is a germaphobe I doubt this was the reason. He himself employs more Haitians than any other nationality at his favourite golf retreat whee he often spends more time than he does at the whitehouse
http://fortune.com/2018/01/12/donald-tr ... ar-a-lago/

If he really was so concerned about germs from a "sh++hole" like Haiti why would he exclusively have these same people serve him food and beverages with their unclean hands? why doesn't he practice what he preaches and hire Norwegians

In any case Trump looks so stupid - he asks why “Why do we need more Haitians?” , his resort was one of the answers to that question. Mar-A-Lago, sometimes dubbed the “Winter White House,” reportedly employs more Haitians than nearly any other nationality. The club applied for and received 70 H-2B visas for its recent 2017-2018 season. The H-2B is a visa that is targeted to low-cost, low-skilled workers and is not under any executive review. The H1-B, which has been in the news, provides visas for technical employees.

H2-Bs, in other words, provide temporary work visas for people to fill seasonal jobs that Americans don’t want.

Responding to everyone. The metropolitan left hate working class people. Yes they work but they despise the white working class that do a lot of the tough manual jobs. They look down on non whites too, bit are too terrified to show their contempt because racism is their world.

I never said that means the right are the friends of the working class. Too many people here are so tribal and it's beyond hypocrisy when we see people on the left accusing the right of being so biased

Politicians lie, bit Trump has done more things he said he would compared to that last guy.

People are having a hysterical hissy fit about Trump saying about Norway, when there is zero evidence that he said such a thing. Then making out he's the devil for not wanting to take in people from hell hole countries. He would have to be insane to want to take them in.

There are liberals who are working class, like myself. I don't live in a big city and never have, I'm not "metropolitan left"--I grew up in a working class background, my parents are working class, all my friends growing up were from working class families. Yet I am what you would call "left"--I'm a democratic socialist and I vote Green Party. I don't have contempt for my own people and where I came from. It's because of the struggles of the working class that I was surrounded by growing up that I became a democratic socialist, it was watching my parents work their asses off until retirement for companies that exploited them and didn't appreciate their work ethic and dedication that made me realize how important it is for us a society to look out for each other and not let a few rich people at the top call all the shots and have all the power.

You talk about the blindness of tribalism with such ironic blindness yourself.

I'm confused how you got "such anger" from my response. I used plain text, no caps lock, no exclamation points, and practically no cursing. I think you might be projecting emotion into people's responses that isn't there.

I'm actually going to side with John Powell here.

There is a big difference between the actual leftists and the billionaires who call themselves leftists in order to derail the left.

The height of irony coming from you?

So its alright for you and your right wing buddies to (fairly clearly) take sides but the left shouldn't be so "tribal"
