Funny you say that, Obama consistently appeared too cowed by conservative media to do anything that specifically was intended to benefit PoC. If we were to assess him on his accomplishments in that regard he wouldn't get a very favourable review.

He seemed to have zero problem not speaking out against law enforcement ambushes and BLM violence. Sometimes not acting is doing plenty.

What BLM violence? I recall plenty of sovereign citizen violence against police, but nothing that could be fairly blamed on BLM.

The incident that was most commonly misattributed to BLM in Baton Rouge was a black sovereign citizen who was critical of BLM.

And this is why you oppose universal health care, is it not? Because it would help the “rejects” as well as the “everyday, hardworking” people. And this is probably why you support work requirements and employer provided health care, it allows for a nice clean division of society into the worthy and the undeserving.

I oppose universal healthcare because you are asking for someone else to be responsible for what you, yourself cannot afford. We are owed nothing... Nobody is responsible for my well being but me.

So there’s no community responsibility, only individual responsibility?

Me neither... did you forget I'm in recovery? For many years I was on the wrong side of the law. I don't think coming home at the end of of shift, because you weren't lured into an ambush by a false report, is all that radical.

I believe in basic, universal health care.

I became convinced when my brother-in-law died because he couldn't get health coverage.

People have reasons for believing in things. I respect that anybody has reasons for believing in things.

You don't get what I mean.

I mean---that I am very much in favor of Law Enforcement.

For me, there is no community responsibility. I can't speak for you. When someone takes care of me, they control me. Maybe you like that, I don't.

Were you to get it through a church or some other private organization, sure, but if and when you are entitled by law to that coverage, not really. The law would recognize your right to that health care, so you would not need to please anyone to receive it.

And that's your right.

It's my right to vote against things I don't believe in.

Our rights should be supported, not demonized. We each have our own moral reasons for them. Perhaps they only make sense to us. But, they should not be in question.

Where did I demonize you? I never demonized your views----except, I guess, your liking for Trump

I fear that Trump is trying to spread the powers of the Executive Branch.

Okay.
I don't like waiting... I have health insurance that doesn't force me to wait, or settle for what passes for middle of the road, what everyone else is entitled to 'healthcare.' My husband and I worked hard for that healthcare. Me for 15 years, him for 35 years and counting. We don't want your version of healthcare. And we shouldn't have that right infringed upon by a universal system. So, we work for better.

You didn't, sorry I used the term 'you' too loosely.

I just mean people with opposing views.

I absolutely agree that people should pick their own health care plan, and keep it.

Obamacare kind of screwed around with that.

In her universe, if you think BLM has a point, then no you do not, no matter what you say.

I don't even know what this means.

All lives matter. And if you value your life as much as I value mine, or the lives of my family members, you avoid the streets. I didn't always feel that way. At the end of my addiction I bought drugs off the streets. The streets kill, they placed me in contact with criminals (of which I was one). Thank goodness I didn't get busted for buying off the streets, but I eventually would have. It's inevitable. Want to avoid a bullet? Stay off the streets... It's really not that hard.

There are still some non-street black people who are targeted by cops for being black.

So since you got yours already, you'd rather ration health care by who can afford it. OK.

FYI, there is no delay for emergency treatment or cancer care; the delays are for what are called elective treatments, basically stuff that can wait. But since you have yours already, you'd rather go to the front of the line, since you think you deserve it by having attained your economic position.
