Thankfully , I myself have never been on this or any other psychotropic drug. However , I have heard of it being prescribed to among others those with Tourette ' s syndrome http://www.ihavetics.com/risperidone-risperdal/. So he might have had some sort of comorbid.

I can recall seeing a commercial for law firm that was filing class action lawsuits against the manufacturer of Risperdal. Here is my take if during the clinical trial of the drug this was noticed then why did the manufacturer never make this known until the side effects came to be noticed later down the line. Okay, to make better sense of what I just stated, if I(pharmaceutical manufacturer) were to release a drug in the market place which had serious detriments to one's heart and clinical trials proved such though, I still placed it in the open market place well, then I could be seen as intentionally negligent.
