There’s been a tradition, over many years, of teachers providing special lessons for students without ulterior motives at all.

I give special lessons when necessary. My autistic adult student can't deal with a Zoom lesson, he wants to continue seeing me in my home but of course we are in lockdown. I would go to his home and teach on his porch if I could but I am high risk and destined to be shut away for eons to come.
I have given private lessons for one of my students at the language school where I taught because he had dyslexia and he needed a one on one lesson. I didn't charge him because that would have been illegal. His family made all kinds of pasta for a living so sometimes he would surprise me and fill my freezer with canneloni and ravioli, lasagna and tiramasu. I could murder some tiramasu just now....... yum

What the teacher did is called tutoring.

Tutoring is when a teacher goes to a student's house to teach the student.

I was tutored the same way on several occasions (except the teacher came into the house since there wasn't a quarantine going on)

There is nothing unusual, questionable or inappropriate about it.

You were out to unfairly vilify this teacher from the beginning and are still trying to come up with something.

If its so regular to give one one tutoring for free (I am not aware of anyone who does this for free where I live) then why is this story so newsworthy?
