I already see SJWs trying to reclaim old medical words as their original definition by trying to get people to stop using them eg. crazy, insane, idiot, stupid, moron, imbecile, weak.

I used to joke about people who still take the R word offensively when it no longer means the intellectual impaired because no one complains about these other words, but it has finally happened.

But if they notice, medical professionals do not use the words crazy, stupid, lazy, insane, etc. for their patients. They also will not use the term "mental issues" either.

I would have thought that the human race would likely benefit if a certain portion gave up speaking all together.
Suit me, with my sensory hypersensitivities....

but seriously. I find the entire politically correct aspects of language getting tiring to keep up with.
I believe some will always find fault where ever they go, due to it being their nature.

People who i have met who are like that, often are very miserable. Perhaps if they learnt to let go a bit more,
they would be happier in themselves.

Perhaps someone could invent a translation device in the future that will allow us to say what we want into it,
and it will take out all the words of discrimination etc. and just leave what is left.

Then people can be free to be as bigoted as they want to without hurting anyone. and we all can join hands in a big circle around the world and do a skipy type of dance while singing i wish i could teach the world to sing song...

and we would all live happily ever after....

The day I see any non-human animal species build its own civilization to rival that of humanity is the day I consider those animals equal to humans, and not one day sooner.

I think it's sad that the most intelligent species on the planet lacks the compassion to treat the other inhabitants of this planet with more compassion then we do.

I suppose it could stop some people from considering adopting and helping those kinds of animals and focusing on the 'beautified' species but if that stops you you aren't a real activist.

It's a significant disadvantage to science that people are using rats in labs when rabbits organisms are much more close to humans just because rabbits are cute. But we eat them instead.

PC talk has gone too far. I don't mind being called a rat. I am a rat. :O)

I do not mind being called a "Dawg", but "Mangy flea-bitten cur" is taking it too far.

Neither of my curs are mangy or flea-bitten.
There are several cur breed common to rural areas of the South.
Old Yeller was based on a Black Mouth Cur but they used a yellow Lab in the movie.

Yes that reminds me of an old WP member whom I was quite fond of, "KIngdom of rats"
Rats are rather tenacious fellows, much like the cunning old fox

One minor distinction is that crazy, idiot, insane, stupid, moron, feeble and imbecile are i) no longer clinical terms (they stopped using them in the 1920s) and ii) the people clinically labelled as such in psychiatric wards and asylums are long gone so there's nobody to trigger anymore.

On the other hand there's plenty of WP members who are recipients of the r-word and it is still used in psychiatric journals

We raised goats, the bucks are called that for a good reason.
They also smell really bad so we borrowed a buck for our does or the whole property would stink like billy goat.It’s bad.

Has anyone asked these animals if they find the words offensive? I asked my cat if he was offended by the phrase "scaredy cat". He didn't say anything but he looked at me kind of funny.

Used to think she left over a comment one user name and she took it personal thinking she was being questioned about her disability. But no, there was more to the story than what we saw. Apparently someone harassed her in PMs.

KOR was unfortunately vulnerable to trolls, at the time she was here on this forum WP was awash with some nasty individuals (fortunately all are gone).
