I skim the news and no, there hasn't been an explosion of violence from left wingers.
There has been a lot of claims to that effect but I don't recall the stories that would back that up.
I have an unusually good memory for that sort of thing though I usually keep it secret as it make normal people nervous.

Well, Tyler Robinson has been confirmed as a radicalised politically hard left person who was originally from a conservative background. The church killings, the Killing of the legislators, and the first Trump assassination attempt were initially seen as being from the political hard left but turned out to be indeterminate on the grounds of mental illness according to Copilot, apart from the second Trump wannabe assassin who turned out to be a Ukrainian supporter.

Is that verified that he went from hard right to hard left? If that's determined solely by his choice of loving a trans woman, then it should be pointed out that the accused shooter was enamored by right wing fanatic Nick Fuentes, a self described incel who is said to get his rocks off watching trans porn. Sexuality hardly defines one's politics, as it has been thought to have for years.

Well, also since when does being gay or being attracted to trans people make a person leftist? It is possible to be a gay right winger; there were even gay nazis. Sexuality does not define a persons political views. Maybe the room-mate was his lover it has no bearing on what side of the political spectrum he leaned towards. The governor of my state is gay, yet he has no problem bowing down to tRump.

The message is that "normal" people are good. If they did something bad they must be "different."
You need to confirm to a particular set of standards.

According to the FBI if you say Tyler Robinson is a Groyper (which he clearly was) you will be removed from your job or go to jail for speaking what is actually fairly obvious.

Happened two time before in American history
1. 2001 Said anything in support of Bin Laden - go straight to jail
2. 1950s Said anything vaguely socialist - get labelled a communist - go straight to jail

I used to have faith in humanity, that we'd proceed in a direction for the greater good, not of just humanity, but the world in general. Always thought it'd take time, but we'd get there little by little. Then Trump came along. I just don't get it. He makes me angry, and sad. He's preying on the ignorant, he's promoting ignorance, he celebrates ignorance. I'm not without my faults and biases, but honestly, the total disregard he has for professionalism, science, total disregard for human beings, disregard for the environment, disregard for pretty much everything I value.

Your faith was misplaced. Those in power will use their power to spread lies and become more powerful.
