Asperger's isn't mentioned in the article, so it isn't relevant to Asperger's.

But, yes, this seems to me like an ideal way to frame someone, Aspie or NT, and whether they are younger or especially older. Accusing someone of anything related to under-age sex is the perfect way to frame someone, or worse, bring someone's life to rack and ruin.

The age of consent in Pennsylvania is 16. Those girls knew that, being under 16 and the boys being over that age.

Yes, I know.

yet police arrest people under the suspicion of a crime without first being convicted, and it doesn't matter what the law or obligation is people still have their own views which are almost always different.

The whole "sexting" thing in that case is blown out of proportion. How can it be someone's fault if another party sends them an un-requested pic on their cell phone? I certainly don't see it as a police/judicial matter either, more of an issue to be settled between the school and parents but I guess those days have long since passed.
Like others have said, if this goes before a judge and even if he is found innocent there will still be a lasting stigmatism AND expensive legal fees.
To me it's pretty much a victimless crime if it's a crime at all. Some little tart took a nudie pic of herself and texted it around to several others whether they asked for it or not. If anything it's a matter of bad taste on her part.

Slowmutant;
This thread is supposed to be about the article posted in the beginning, not a venue for you to attack everyone out of boredom or some kind of inferiority complex.
Get a life..........

This incident happened a few years ago and ended in a stalemate.
No one dared to get the police involved so I never had to self-vindicate.

So you were eventually vindicated? Could you somehow prove your innocence?

I'm sorry, but I still don't buy it. I get the feeling there is -or was- a lot more to the story than you've told me. Something about the whole situation seems odd.

Could you prove that you didn't walk by a dog which barked and scared a flock of geese toward an airplane which later crash landed in the Hudson River?
If I am guilty of this, then you are guilty of that!

Sometimes I wonder if the writers of the news stories feel bad for the people they write about. I would. I might even imply in every single context of the sentence how stupid the entire police involvement is. How can a child be convicted of an adult crime? I don't really understand that. I guess this is why it takes so long at the county buildings to get your case tried :P and why we have an overrun population of inmates.

@ ValSmith

I don't want to argue with you any more. I don't want to fight.

Why I couldn't take your word for it from the get-go I am not sure. Maybe I should have.

I apologize for harassing you.

@slowmutant

I LOVE PEACE :D
Don't take personally anything I said.
I didn't even know we were fighting.
I just don't understand why anyone is guilty of unwanted bad stuff from other people.

not being nasty to the kid but wot makes u think its an aspie boy?

this sounds like something that happened at our school.

its the girls own fault for either a) taking the picture or b) letting someone else take the picture.

she shud be punished not the others.

I agree- this whole thing is a crock of s**t.
Bullying indeed. All the kid had to do is take his phone straight to a teacher or other adult and wash his hands of any impropriety.
Kids these days are doing a lot "worse" a lot younger. I can't even believe this is news-worthy anymore.

I can't believe that people believe the stuff they call "news" anymore.

I think it all started with this kind of crap that old women in my neighborhood buy and read:

the problem is this type of thing is serious in any circumstance, if someone e-mailed/texted illegal pictures to you and you went to the police you could still be charged for taking part. whilst surfing the net i once came across a controversial site that held a picture of a painting sir elton john bought that displayed two naked young girls 'belly dancing', i felt sick to my stomach and as my brother was going to town the next day i asked him if he could report the site to the police. the police thought he was guilty of looking at that sort of thing even though he was reporting it.

You can't get convicted without being charged with anything, and you cannot be charged without the CPS or equivalent having the supporting information.

You would prefer if you just went to a kangaroo court?

Judiciary an policing a separate for good reason.

These are teenages for goodness sakes. The girls require counselling for inappropriate behaviour and for social awareness. The boys parents can instruct them on deleting explicit pics sent to them without consent.

Are the Police, 'The Keystone Cops', because their actions are comical and a waste of community resources.

Either they haven't completed the investigation or it isn't telling the whole story, I hope to god.
