Ah, OK. But really, I think in literal terms. Freedom means The Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Yeah, except in reality the organizers are about freedom from any form of societal or social contracts (like being a Provincial member of Canada) as well as freedom from having anything to do with BIPOC people. They’re a bunch of far right fringe loonies and they’re using the trucker protest against mandates to recruit support for their brand of crazy.

If I am targeting any groups of people, I am targeting anti vaxxers and dumb people who refuse to be vaccinated. There's my "doggy whistle."

Same. There's a huge difference.

In my ideal world everyone would get vaccinated, but we can't tell others what they have to do with their bodies.

Even if everyone was / is vaccinated, the government can't restrict mobility the way they have where I live.

I was fully vaxxed and not allowed to go for a drive, or leave my house without police inspection.

That's not OK.

I think I have come to agree as well, let them decide what to do with their bodies and if they want to die sooner, their body their choice. But if this is a doggy whistle to MaxE, not my problem. Just as long as he doesn't think I am using a code word or think I mean entirely something else, that is all that matters.

Goldfish,

Maybe I'm naive. I am kind of an idealist.

I hope you're wrong though. It would be a sad day if "freedom" became an all-call for that kind of shite.

Most people I know support the truckers and are also active in protests / initiatives in support of BIPOC and Indigenous Affairs.

if he didn't mean anyone in this thread, I wonder why he even brought it up then, how confusing. I even have a online friend who does this often and I get very upset and I have to tell him to quit it because it makes my head hurt. Stop the random talk and the off topic, stop bringing up stuff not relevant to what we are talking about lol. But to him I am the one with the problem and I think differently have a ND brain lol because of how I think and process things.

Is this how humans in general communicate: say random things, go off topic and stuff?

I have come to a point where I ask "why would I say that?" and "what does this word mean in a doggy whistle?" "How is this relevant?" This is my way of trying to get a concrete answer and to understand why did my friend do this.

Edit: word.

Where are you getting this information or are you speculating? Everything I’ve read leads me to believe it is about protesting the mandates being applied to the trucking industry.

Just for future reference, the proper response to someone going on about dog whistles is to laugh at them and move on, as nothing productive will come from engaging with them. It's basically just a way to try and tar people with a guilt by association attack by claiming that they're secretly saying something they aren't, or repeating some sort of code words used by odious groups, so just ignore it.

It’s funny to me as “they” heard the dog whistle.

Which is why I made a joke about it in this thread about an imaginary doggy whistle I did.

That too, even when there wasn't one there, in which case they'll accuse you of trying to gaslight them.

And that is when you tell them "if anyone here is gaslighting, it's you."

I thought right wingers were against protests that block traffic...but hypocrites as usual.

The bottom line is that Trudeau is a coward, and everyone else has the constitutional right to assemble in peaceful protest.

Until anyone has lived here and experienced what's going on first hand, they wouldn't believe it anyway.
