I think she needs both. Naturalplastic is correct. I've watched "The View" a few times and she has got away with some cringeworthy comments in the past, It doesn't come from a bad place, she is (as well all suspect) just a little ill-informed.

But why suspend somebody for being "ill-informed"? Why not just educate her?

This concept bothers me deeply. As far as I can see, it is defining guilt by birth.

A person is born the dominate color, and is therefore guilty of the crime of racism.

By suspending her, they are removing the issue from view. Out of sight, out of mind. By faking anger, she is off for two weeks only to come back when the hot new issue is something else.

Win-Win. If she was just “educated” then they would have to continue the conversation.

Maybe she can go on Joe Rogan's show to discuss the issue during her 2 week break?

Off Topic
It has been interesting to see on (anti)"social media" the number of people from the "right" who don't believe she should have been suspended, but instead should have received "training" regarding what was wrong about what she said\have a guest on the show to explain this.

On the other side, those on the "left" have been applauding her suspension.

When you say educate do you mean some type of cultural sensitivity training?

I think seeing her face slashed over the media may be enough of an "education". The thing is, Whoopi is not dumb, I think she is intelligent enough to know. I think she got muddled up and it might be a sign she has to a) consider her words more carefully b) perhaps not make comments about groups she is not part off and c) reflect on whether it's time for her to hang up her boots and quit TV

I think its going to be embarrassing for her to return to talkshows but then her audience will have short memories for these things.

I think it's plausible Whoopi made her comment from the prism of US black/white relations where in her mind she saw no distinction between blonde haired jews and blonde haired Germans so it informed her comment that the latter is not about race, It simply means she is ill-informed and might benefit from attending an education program about anti-semitism.

I suspect Gina Carano's angle is why Whoopi Goldberg isn't being fired from Disney.

I see you have a problem with basic reading and comprehension... From Ms Carano's post (which you quoted in your reply):

This is the same as I understand her words. The issue is admitting she is ill-informed, she makes a lot of money to be provide an informed opinion. I think I learned Hitler thought the jews were an inferior race in the 3rd grade and it has never been debunked. Disney has fired for less heinous offenses, comparing today political climate to Nazi Germany.
