From 1999 to 2005 when this was alleged to have happened this behavior by entertainers was still normalized and expected.

Comedians tend to be an insecure bunch so maybe no matter how many women he had sex with voluntary or otherwise it was never enough to get rid of imposter syndrome.

Before #Metoo it was normalised, but since Epstein, Weinstein, Diddy and Cosby, a lot of these entertainers who indulged are now looking over their backs.

I think in Brand's case its boredom and (in his mind) taking it as a challenge when a woman says "no". trump is also alleged to have preyed on his associates wives. why do that when you are a billionaire and have access to so many women already? because he was young arrogant rich and powerful. Fame and fortune might give narcissistic men like this a god complex, that they can take what they want.
