Alex is probably not permitted to discuss the case online. It's a shame that the lawyers will advice him to settle with the family because it will cost more in lawyer's fees and court costs to go to court and fight it. Either way the family and the lawyers will get money out of this. I wonder if he can countersue for his court costs etc? I would contribute money to defend WP also.

Where did you get this info?? This sounds like pure conjecture. The case against WP will most likely be dismissed.

I'll hunt around to find the links, but I've seen a site which shows a simmilar court case that was dismissed and set legal precedent to dismiss further cases.

AGAIN, there's no need for worry. The case against WP won't make it out of pre-trial hearings.

It is standard practice for attorneys to instruct their clients not to discuss the particulars of a case online. The other side might be reading and use the information against the client.

Lawyers advising you to not spend money on legal fees?

What planet are you from

I expect the complainants lawyers advised to sue everyone.

I think advice I got once was cool. "Give them f*****g nothing and even that's too much".

It depends on whether the lawyer thinks he will get the money for the bills that he runs up.

I've got an apple tech guru we can use.

he's a friend of mine, and not to mention, he's airforce, which means if neeed be, he can just tell the people to drop it, or end up in jail.

My coworker signed a very simple statement on a lawsuite against him* with the facts of the case(truth as he knew it). Filed it paid a small filing fee. The court clerk tried her best to tell him to get a lawyer but he stood there demanding she file the statement. They dropped their suite aginst him and went after the other people. If he had done nothing he would have had a default judgement(lost). A lawyer told him this on the telephone pro bono he could do this.

* I wrote it for him.

An ethical lawyer (the few that there are) will actually tell you that.

I had to go to arbitration with my car insurance company after they cut me off for supposedly exaggerating my injuries. It was a bunch of crap. But the lawyer that I hired to sue the drunk guy that hit me and his employer (he hit my with his work truck) told me that he was only representing me at arbitration as a courtesy because of the contingency (percent) he got from my settlement. He also told me that his hourly rate for the arbitration would have cost me more than the medical bills. So they're out there.

In a lawsuit about a high school basketball coach in Birmingham, AL, who was fired allegedly for protesting gender discrimination against the womens' team, a settlement has just been reached that is split between the coach at $50,000 and the lawyers at $350,000.

Does a lawyer have the only job on earth in which one can fail to succeed and yet still come out wealthier in the end?

No, you could also play for any one of New York City's fine sports teams.
