So Nightline finally caught on to this story, which first appeared in the St. Petersburg(the one in Florida) Times. It's about David Miscavige -- or Slappy, as he's been dubbed. He the current leader of Scientology, and he has on numerous occasions assaulted his subordinates, subjected them to cruel and unusual punishments and the list goes on like that. He's a grade-A psychopath in the classic meaning of the word. The sad thing is - Imagine the freak-out he must have had when that story hit local papers. Now imagine what's gonna happen to the people near him now that this story has hit the airwaves.

Scientology, the religion for the wealthy who lack any form of common sense, or lack any ability to think for themselves. Hell, it was Hubbard himself who said, "The easiest way to make money was to create a cult/religion who's followers are so stupid, they will give you anything." Well, something along those lines . . . not to mention his dianetics method is untested, and as a result is pretty unstable and could mess folks up mentally (informed by a friend of mine). What i was told about it was ridiculous . . . up there with the Rayleians (or however the hell you spell that name). Overall, they lost their con artist icon, and got a borderline Stalin to replace him . . .

I'm glad this is breaking news. I was a Scientologist briefly 25 years ago and had to sneak out of a place I shared with 6 of them once I found out the awful truth from an ex-scientologist ... Hubbard was an evil man whose own son proclaimed as much.

This news should help the cause of the group known as "Anonymous" very much in their pursuit of getting that "religion" destroyed once and for all.

Oh...and Tom Cruise and John Travolta you are TOOLS.

I often wonder if the scientologists themselves are behind their own negative publicity. Any publicity is good publicity. A reaction creates a stronger impression than indifference.

I am on the Scientologists "enemy list" because I joined years ago and then told them to stick it.

Quite frankly I am now old and cynical. I don't give a hoot if fools and their money are parted.

Do I despise Scientologists? Yes.
Do I respect Christians, Jews, Mormons, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists or people who believe in flying saucers?

No.

That would make sense, if it wasn't for the fact that their reputation is so horrible that they have to resort to obfuscating their identity either when doing seemingly innocent "stress tests" that people would avoid if it said "Scientology" anywhere, and my personal personal favorite: Having 12/13-year-old kids walking around with pamphlets about "human rights" as interpreted by Scientology. Of course, Scientology and Human Rights are about as far apart as Teegeeack and Xenu. But then again, I'm a criminal; a religious bigot, because I protest against them, so what do I know?
