I thought this post deserved three exclamation points. The Pope, in our very midst, communicating with aliens.

Be mindful that many visit this website and would consider that photo very offensive to their faith.

Too effing bad. Maybe just maybe this will make some theists think (for a change) and begin to question their silly superstitions. Grow up already!

It's pure parody from a news story released today. The Pope is calling in experts to study the possibility of alien life and how that effects the Catholic religion. This is a good thing. No malicious intent intended.

In which case they should not visit it again.

Being offended is a constant and normal state in a free society. No matter what you do (or do not do) half of the population disapproves of it. One should get used to being offended.

No matter what you say, half of the population disapproves of it.

Imagine if the Vatican actually found it. They would be f****d! It's kind of like children playing detectives - It's all well and fun until they actually stumble upon a murder-scene. In the Catholics case, they would probably try to convince the aliens that not wearing condoms stops whatever ailments they might suffer from.

We should probably stop them from doing this, because they have a microscopic chance of succeeding, and imagine if the first contact aliens have with Earth is with the biggest organized crime group in the world: Bad news for us all! 8O

I don't think they'd really be that bothered.
Haven't they already accepted the theory of evolution (along with the heliocentric model of the heavens)?

I wouldn't call myself "religious" but I do have faith.
And went to Catholic high (secondary) school.
I am amused.

Whether there are aliens or not, the cat still craps in the litterbox; the snot still comes out of my nose in the same colors; and I've gotta pay the phone bill.

I've heard of the Vatican considering this before. It's not the first time. Giordano Bruno was burned at the stake for making the suggestion of other inhabited worlds 400 years ago. Interesting how times have changed.

Poor Bruno...thought of him when I saw the title...I guess heresy is a 'matter of date', too...;)

well, I don't see a problem with it...
