There was a guy with a concealed handgun in the mall. While the defender didn't take the shot due to bystanders down range, in typical form the active shooter got his jam cleared and shot himself upon meeting resistance. I know about shooting under stress and that It's not like picking cans off a fence, so I respect his judgment call not to take the shot.

PORTLAND -- Nick Meli is emotionally drained. The 22-year-old was at Clackamas Town Center with a friend and her baby when a masked man opened fire.
"I heard three shots and turned and looked at Casey and said, 'are you serious?,'" he said.
The friend and baby hit the floor. Meli, who has a concealed carry permit, positioned himself behind a pillar....

This is why they activated the Sandy Hook Op nearly in 24 hours. They had to get their death toll AND make damned sure this didn't get attention.

The very notion of a CCW holder stopping one of these mass shootings will undo years of their work.

Yes, I beleiee these are windup toys. It's well-documented that you can drug anybody up and send them on a shooting spree. This is why they kill themselves, because when the effect wears off, now they are sitting there realizing what they did, and do pretty much the same thing that everybody does in a murder-suicide for the same reasons.

While I agree that the CT shooting does resemble a false flag operation, I disagree with you on most murder-suicides. It appears that most of those killers (even the domestic ones) do plan to take themselves out when they are done, but unfortunately there isn't a whole lot of data to make a case either way.

Someone just had to suggest a conspiracy theory.

This is nothing more than blatant media bias.

Even if he could have gotten a clear shot and taken the active shooter out the anti's still would have gotten up in arms (no pun intended) over it. They would have charged vigilantism for sure followed by "what if an innocent bystander had been shot" and/or "he should have waited for the professionals to arrive" then on to "carrying a gun for protection only makes things worse", and so on.....
