There's a fox in my road. It comes out for a wander around at ten past midnight every night and now it is mating season and it has got a partner and the two of them do the rounds together.
There is a problem in London with people feeding the foxes and getting them over-familiar with humans. They are wild animals, not tame pets and they never will be. Plus a steady supply of food means the foxes will increase their population and a cull will be needed at some point soon, given that they have no natural predators in a city. Plus a cull will cost councils money and isn't something you'd really want to have to happen.
The foxes I see still have their fear of humans - if I move, they run away. That's how it should be. People trying to hand-feed them and pet them is going to encourage them to enter houses, especially since back doors usually lead into the kitchen and are left open while cooking, so they will associate houses with food.
