in Madagascar; he was Osama Bin-Laden's brother in law

From The Fourth Rail:

Quote:
Mohammed Jamal Khalifa, one of Osama bin Laden's brother-in-laws with deep roots in al-Qaeda as a financier and facilitator, has been reported to have been murdered in his bedroom in Madagascar. Khalifa, "who mined and traded precious stones in Madagascar," was reported to have been murdered by "a gang of 20 to 30 gunmen broke into his brother's bedroom, shot him dead 'in cold blood' and stole his belongings."

"I don't think [his death] was politically motivated," said Malek Khalifa, Mohammed Jamal's brother. But Khalifa's deep ties to al-Qaeda, coupled with his history of funding global terrorist operations, his operations in mining precious stones in Africa (a source of untraceable income), and the size of the 'gang' that murdered him, suggests otherwise. We suspect Khalifa was assassinated. "They stole everything — his computer, all of his things," said Khalifa's brother. Task Force 145 has a mandate to hunt down senior al-Qaeda operatives world wide, and is known to have operated in Pakistan to destroy Osama bin Laden's Black Guard. Also, the U.S. recently deployed naval assets to the region, as well as Task Force 145, in the hunt for al-Qaeda and Islamic Courts leaders fleeing Somalia.

Obviously, we don't know for sure who was responsible for this action. However, the group they mentioned...

Quote:
Task Force 145 is a secretive collection of the U.S. elite troops, operating under Joint Special Operations Command, which was tasked with hunting down Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

TF 145 is comprised of elements of the Army’s 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (better known as Delta Force), SEAL Team 6, the Army’s 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment and 75th Ranger Regiment, the Air Force’s 24th Special Tactics Squadron and Britain's Special Air Service. It is also believed that various intelligence agencies have a classified presence in TF 145 as well.

(source link with more information)

ADDENDUM: I love the fact it says "secretive collection" yet it has specific details of what precise elements of the US/UK military comprise the group. This would hardly be consider "secretive" in say China, or Russia. Heck, for a while we even knew what their mission was!

In terrorism, that's not called murder, that's called dispute resolution.

Wow, they killed Osama bin Laden brother in law. What a good job, even though they still haven't found the man himself. That's if he still alive. Is this really news?

Well...uh he's a bad guy. I find items, maybe this wasn't the most important one :? . What is probably more important then the fact he was his brother-in-law (in probably has like a hundred of them anyway) is that fact he was a terrorist financier.

As for finding Bin-Laden, I kinda wonder whether we ever will to be honest. We still haven't found high ranking Bosnian war criminals and they at least started on the ground in Europe. Bin Laden is on the ground (assuming he is still alive) in the mountains of Afganistan or in that irratating part of tribal Pakistan that Mussaraf doesn't want to send his forces into on accounts of it maybe getting himself shot.

jimservo, you seem real into politics. I'm not a big fan of George Bush, but then again I voted for him in 2000.

amerikasend, I sort of smiled but sighed when I saw this.

Politics is one of my "areas." I started getting into it when I was in elementary school. I remember a cruder (intellectually) version of myself debating my 8th grade teacher that Truman was wrong to fire General Macarthur for wanting to invade China. In retrospect I think I was wrong.

One of my weaknesses is an unwillingness to just say: "That's enough." I want more debate, more justifications from the other side. It doesn't help this drives my own anxiousness up a wall and eventually I have to leave the discussions for a few days.

Politics is tough, tough stuff.

American special forces couldn't screw in a lightbulb, let alone kill a high ranking terrorist. Sounds like a mercenary job to me.

Hey they attack Iraq just so they can refer to Arabs as Terrorists and to Racially profile them. Wait a second, there are some of my fellow men dying for some phony war. I'm sure they despise Hitler oops, I mean George W. Bush. I was just going off on what the people in my class that were in Iraq and served their country in Iraq and still have to pay a shedload for school. Jimservo, when are you going to "join up." When are you going to serve George W. Bush War? Hey quoting right winged blogs and papers is pointless. Since you support everything so much. Why aren't you over in Iraq?

There was a purpose for that. To keep this phony war on. Also, for the amerikans to dislike Arabs that are citizens of this country. Hey, now according to Geirge "Hitler" Bush, a lot of Amerikansd distrust arabs, because according to George " Hitler" Bush. They are the enemny. Basically it's George 'dumb f**k that has never read his own faith holy book' Bush war. Oh God itself informed Bush to attack Iraq.

Wonder how as Flagg says, how can they not catch Bin Laden? Well, easy answer, If they don't catch him, the war between White Christians goes on Between with the Arabs, also known as to people like Jimservo as Terrorists. So, It's a battle between to Christians and Muslims basically and the UK, UK government the USA puppet. Hey Tony Blair is Dubya "Poodle."
