Psychologists debate adding another attention disorder to the books

Heck, much of whats described fits me better then whats for ADHD, I was always off in daydream land and what not. its like I couldnt turn it off.

The more we understand things the more they become refined and defined, so its not to surprising to me that they make new definitions out of the old ones. its about like saying yes you have a tumor in your brain, but at least now we know where it is in your brain.

Yeah, I would of though it would be more of the lines of Attention Deficit Hypoactivity Disorder as I read up on it ages ago, but stuck with that to distinguish it from ADHD.

I've heard about this a few years ago, actually. A special ed teacher had suggested it might apply to my daughter, till she had been diagnosed with autism by a proper psychologist.

It is a rather cognitively sluggish name for a disorder.

Why not just call it "cognitive adagio"?

"Adagio" means "slow tempo" in music.

Yes, if my condition has to be called assburgers then these twits should have to have an equally disturbing name something akin to greasy brain farts. Unfortunately I think I may suffer from it as well....

The name seems like a fancy way of saying a slow thinker. But what they describe sounds a bit more like a person splitting there attention/thoughts between external and internal processes which isn't really slow per se. It only might appear so from the outside where you only are getting a part of the persons attention. Like a time share situation. I wonder if some of this is really a 'condition' suggesting a deficiency, or just a alternate methodology that some adopt, with perhaps some genetic preconditioning. People aren't all going to be exact copies (perfect mean norm).
