I don't get all these fools cavorting on times square and elsewhere, happily yappin' HAPPY NEW YEAR! and such. don't they know of the unknown dangers that await them in the new year? how can they be so blasé about it?

I don't know why, but I feel sad that it's now 2015. Maybe due to the fact that I'm getting older and not younger.

you and me both. :| but my sensibilities were offended year after year, when I observe all these people naively assuming [or is it "presuming"?] that the new year will be somehow better.

I'm going to make it be a great year, because I am freaking AWESOME.

I achieved heaps in 2014 and I intend for 2015 to be the same.

2015 will be better for some, and worse for others. Life is like a box of chocolates.

I don't get it either. Everyone feels they have to be "part of something" so they can get the pictures and t-shirt. The event is meaningless

rather than celebrate what they have no idea will actually turn out well, instead they should be "pre-disastering" or ceremoniously destroying symbolic set pieces in an attempt at pacifying the gods of futility and chaos.

I can hardly say I am, although I'm hopeful the ambiance of happiness will increase. Humanity is in the middle of growing pains stemming from the release of our presumptions and proliferation of our private thoughts. Some cling to judgmental institutionalized schadenfreude while freaks like me seek means of producing unity and marginalizing squabbles.

It's a milestone and an excuse to drink, what else do you need?

Nothing blinkin' happy about it though....just the earth being pulled by the force of the gravity-space continuum, and has thereby carved the space on its wake.... :skull: she'll continue to do that some 7 billion years still.

It's just a mask, disguising the truth, which is that the whole thing serves no other purpose than that of the tally marks on a prison wall.
