Reparative Therapy tries and make gay people straight The Learning Channel is airing a program called "My Husband is No Gay" follows 4 married couple where the gay husband undergoes this therapy.

I post this this wearingly knowing it opens me up to accusations of being a censoring, politically correct insecure wimp. If this was a serious effort at examining this issue I would have not signed the petition. But the title of the show indicates it's just more reality TV sensationalist crap aiming at the voyeuristic tendencies of people. Freedom of speech will survive this show's cancellation and possibly a few people that would have not have will also.

From what I know it is impossible to change a gay man into a heterosexual man, a famous TV doctor in the UK (who happens to be gay) looked into this matter. He was tested for "how gay" he was before and after a range of treatments and it was shown that these treatments had no effect. I saw his documentary and I was impressed with what he did, he went through some very nasty experiences to unmask them and show the public how wrong they were.

What he did was like it reminds me of the time where Christopher Hitchens agreed to be waterboarded to show the world how bad it is. I think that what Dr Jessen did inspires me to do more to stand up to the bigots who want to cure AS and do other horrible things to people with autism.

And TLC sucks, every single program I've seen on there was crap.

They say their husbands are not gay, even though they are sexually attracted to other men. There's a word for that kind of attraction - - GAY!

Maybe you should watch UK TV, channel 4 used to be associated with a lot of smut about 20 years ago but now it does a lot of serious stuff

I think it's the forum software, I've seen quite a few people post links that somehow end up not working. No idea what causes it.
I don't have channel4, the only British channels I have here are BBC1/2, and maybe Discovery and Nat Geo are British too? Not sure. I do have TLC, and that is about the crappiest channel I have seen. So many channels are fine with pushing crap on people, like all the shows on people trying to find Bigfoot or some ghost... you already know how such shows end (they don't find Bigfoot).

We're not even ten days into 2015 and already more horrific or just plain stupid things have happened: Terrorist attack in France, Bill Cosby's "joke" to a woman to be careful drinking around him when she told him she was getting up to get a soda, and now TLC has sunk so low (is that even possible now?) they come out with a show like this. I'm now positive that we are gradually reverting back to the Stone Age. And you can't make gay people straight, they're born that way. You couldn't make a homosexual person heterosexual any more than you can make me right-handed instead of left-handed -and it wasn't that long ago lefties were thought to be evil or stupid.
