No problem. According to the Muslims God is great. He'll fix up global warming. If that doesn't work, we have Jesus and Budha as back up.

The average surface temperature is derived from a tiny non-representative layer. It doesn't tell us much about anything. They could as well be detecting statistical noise due to the urban heat effect. The globe has been cooling since 1998 according to more reliable satellite data.

I'm hoping this summer isn't too warm. I can't handle the hot weather anymore, I would prefer it if there were only 3 seasons instead of four.

So that's the denial argument... 1998 count but not 2014 because "satellite data"... Even though 2014 most likelly alos use satellite data. The warming is more intense near the poles where there is no or little urban heat effect by the way. Greenland and the polar ice caps are currently accumulating lots of ice. The Antarctic ice sheet recently set a new record.

The surface temperature is just a tiny part of a complex system. It's largely irrelevant due to measurement difficulties like the aforementioned urban effect, and "the warmest year on record" comes with several disclaimers. 38% certainty is one of them, in addition to an error margin larger than the measured signal. Using this data as an argument in support of political measures based on the now largely defunct AGW-hypothesis is not even wrong.
