in this video, an autistic individual is being strapped to a table and given electric shocks.

the only way a kid should be given this torture is if he's holding a knife on someone. however, they use this regularly when it's completely unnecessary.

I live overseas, but those who live in US, can you please demonstrate and protest and scream your heads off? Write about it in forums, in social networks. Raise hell. If you cant start a demonstration, raise hell through the internet.

What do you think should be done to those monsters? If it was up to you. I say put them against the wall and shoot them.

Is there any chance these people are going to jail? If people did this during war it would be called war crimes.

I didnt read anywhere that they're going to jail, and i dont think they are because i understand the place's still open. Everyone knows, and they're still doing it.

That's the Judge Rotenburg Center. Autism Rights Groups have opposed them for years until eventually in 2010, Disability Rights International called for investigation of that place by the UN under international agreements regarding torture. Needless to say that the UN has called their electro-shock aversive therapy torture. What's most shocking (no pun intended) is that even though people have been trying to get it closed down for a number of years, they were unsuccessful because many of the parents of the children who were sent there actually defended the place.

What happened in the specific case where the child was shocked in the linked to video was that his mother sued the JRC for that incident and won. It has also led the judge to ban this "therapy" on any future kids admitted to the school but unfortunately, not for the ones who were already in that "program" before the ban. So, they are still being shocked like that.

Another thing that happened was that Matthew Israel, the head of the JRC, was forced to resign or potentially face criminal charges for destroying video tapes, which were evidence in another case against the school, similar to this one.

those are kids whose parents won't protect them, those are the most vulnerable of all because of that, their age, and their disability. How can the parents defend this? Anyone did this to my nieces, I'd get a life sentence myself... I'd burn the place down and kill all the torturers.

unbelievable that in this day and age, when smacking a kid on the bottom is frowned upon, this horror torture is going on, and those kids have to live with it every day for the rest of their lives. I'd commit suicide. They're like the walking dead. Those people are lower than animals and deserve to die horribly and burn in hell forever.

Life sentence in my opinion. If you torture someone, whether they be on the spectrum or not, you should go to jail for life, since the majority of these s**theads will only commit the same act when they are released.

Like those f*****g parents that used "faith healing" instead of taking their SECOND child to the doctor and the child then died. Mind you this was after they were in jail for doing the same thing to their FIRST child.

i'm pretty sure this hissing, spitting African cobras pit is still operating, and it's legal and maybe not even the only one. of course, it's all in the child's best interest...

It came out years ago that they don't just zap those kids on the spot the moment of the infraction but repeatedly and sometimes over trivial BS. Often enough it's done well after the infarction and whilst the "student" is restrained as we saw in the video.

Put those f*****s on trial at the Hague for crimes against humanity, and let them rot in prison for the rest of their miserable lives.

It didm't just come out. It's been known, at least in the autistic community, for over a decade that they've been doing it. You can find threads about right here on WP that were created in 2007 already.

Unless the parents of those kids start objecting en-mass or at least enough of them I don't see anything happening.

Yes, I selected the death penalty as well. Too harsh? Maybe, but if these monsters had any idea, any clue whatsoever (not to mention empathy, which is something that we are often accused of not having) then they wouldn't even consider such a barbaric 'treatment' (like we actually need to be 'treated' anyway...).

Hang 'em high, I say! Shooting is too good for 'em! Waste of ammo.

Death is too good for them. Lock 'em up with a bunch of violent inmates, and throw away the key.
