just read in the news a refugee arrived in Italy with her cat. according to news, if the vet didnt intervene, the cat would've been thrown in the sea to drown, for health reason.

The only diseases cats can give humans are rabies, which is extremely rare in cats, and harming an unborn baby, but only if you clean their litter boxes and you're not used to cats from before you got pregnant, and even then it's extremely rare. Many pregnant women have cats in their house. Isolation can rule out rabies safely. Killing the cat would be totally unnecessary.

What will happen next time a person arrives with a cat, and the vet and TV camera aren't around to protect it?

Nobody should ever be allowed to call themselves an "authority" for any reason.

agree on every word, although not sure the entire world has become a police-state recently. seems more like something that was always, and maybe always will be.
