Possible, but not certain.

We should look first, Alien bugs have a Biological Warfare potential.

If nothing survives, and Mars did have better conditions to support life in the past, we do have species that could survive the conditions.

Water, CO2, sunlight, life can take hold. Any food supply would make a colony possible.

Water gives us air and fuel, we can build shielding and pressure.

How can we be sure that nature acts the same on other planets as they do on Earth? Different atmospheres and different gravity strengths could make things act differently. These high dollar explorations of Mars have only produced formations that look like they are water formed, but no evidence of free water itself.

Mining/ terraforming operations will effectively be outside of all earth legal jurisdictions...

There are horrors in store for whichever terran lifeforms our entrepreneurs adapt for these suicide missions. If I was in charge, I would advocate blasting mars with radiation, or something, so that nothing alive can be sent there for several million years.

All we need to do is declare it a National Park and put the U.S. Forest Service Nazis in charge. That would keep the place off limits.

Imagine sailing in the lake in Valles Marineris and seeing it with those huge canyon walls in the distance, it would be like the Grand Canyon on steroids!! ! 8)

I wonder why it took so long to even get to this point?

I certainly think it might mean there had at least at one time been life there. Warning to life on earth - - nothing's permanent.

That fat cretin Rush Limbaugh is claiming that reports of water on Mars is somehow a leftist conspiracy. No, I swear I'm not making this up!

Who cares what's on Mars?
We don't even have the capability to achieve low earth manned orbit let alone go to Mars.

Yes. Quarantining would be preferable to burning it to a cinder.
