Why No Outrage Over Officially Sanctioned City Poisoning?

Because it was done by Democrats.

There has been plenty of outrage and this has been a major news story.

I am baffled by the suggestion that this has been undercovered, or insufficiently emoted about.
The partisan lie the (non-existent) lack of outrage has something to do with party politics is, sadly much less surprising.

It's as simple as this, they(city of Flint)switched from lake water(akaline) to river water(acidic) essentially to save money and Flint being an old crappy town with houses and even infrastructure made with entirely with lead pipes which this acidic river water leached from. I don't think you can really assign blame to any political party or ideology, it was negligence and stupidity on the part of the people that made the decision as well as just natural byproduct of how poisoned the land is in the post-apocalyptic rust belt.

I heard Hillary saying this would never happen in a prosperous white community which is true but it wouldn't happen in any prosperous community, if we still had manufacturing and jobs in this country then this wouldn't of happened. There are so many people and communities in this country that have been completely abandoned and have been for decades, they can bail out the banks and the insurance companies but when it comes regular Joe's you're s**t out of luck. There really is a money problem in politics, everyone is bought and paid for and very little actually changes from administration to administration even and that's by design because the ruling class want to stay the ruling class and they're smart enough to hedge their bets while common folk can barely get their voices heard without ridicule and media smearing. This is true no matter what side of the aisle you are own, the elitists all look down their noses at us.

Flint has had a reputation among Michiganders as being a corrupt place since the 1930s. Most of my relatives there seem to have an attitude of "What do you expect?" with regards to Flint's government, infrastructure, and general population.

seems to me it was more than mere "negligence and stupidity" due to the fact that they covered it up while having supplied clean water to their buddies/employees for over a year. the cover-up tells me this was by design, an assault upon the people. Michael Moore has much more to say about this, and says it much better than I ever could.

Poisoned municipal water is the best argument against running government like a business. Business is all about making money while saving as much money as possible, and that just doesn't fly when the health and welfare of citizens is at stake.

I can't help believing that the right-wingers in charge of places like Michigan just don't give a damn about the health and welfare of most of their citizens, only thing that matters to them is the almighty buck.

I can't help believing that a citizenry gets the kind of government it deserves.

Then again, I moved as far from Michigan as I could and still have a job.

It wasn't about saving money, it was a make-work project straight out of the FDR playbook, it actually was going to cost the city more than just staying with the clean water they had.

And the fact is, the kind of political ideology that stands for less government in people's lives (that is, actually helping people) are more likely to be the ones who have no compunction about hurting people, or doing nothing when people are hurt.

that sounds like an antisocial personality disorder to me, or at least a dissocial subset.

Well, Bill Maher did say that politicians on the right are missing an empathy gene which lets them see someone else' suffering, and think that they might be in pain.
