The police in the U.S. are acting as judges. And no one is stopping them. Procedure is fine, but execution can't be hidden by words.

We have yet to see all the facts in the case... but it certainly doesn't look very good for the police officer firing the shots at this point...

I noticed several aspects of interest:

- Is there any footage showing Sterling's other arm? The officer had one of his arms pinned. If the other arm was pinned as well, then it would indeed amount to an execution.
- Was Alton Sterling legally carrying a firearm? Louisiana is an open-carry state, but some reports say the police officers found a gun "in his pocket"...
- Both officers had body cameras that weren't functioning (apparently because they came loose during the confrontation). Will the footage up until they came loose be released?
- What kind of police officer waves a loaded gun inches from a person's face while basically sitting on top of him?
- Was Alton Sterling also pleading allegiance to ISIS?

Global News

Quote:
The Advocate reported that East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner William “Beau” Clark said the initial autopsy results show Sterling suffered more than two gunshot wounds to his chest and back and that he died as a result of a homicide.

Baton Rouge Police said in a statement the two officers “have been placed on administrative leave per standard procedure.”

Police Chief Carl Dabadie Jr. said Wednesday that the officers involved in the shooting are Blane Salamoni, a four-year member of the department and Howie Lake II, who has been on the force for three years.

Looks like a good shoot to me.

Large male unrestrained/has a free arm and hand when on the ground (he was previously hit with a taser for no effect)
has a firearm on his person (cops scream it out)
gets shot whilst resisting arrest

I guess this is another litmus test for one's analyzing ability.

The police can't shoot someone just for having a firearm. It is an open-carry state so it is possible he legally owned a firearm. You can't tell me he shot him point blank in the chest twice and he wasn't just trying to kill him in cold blood.

The police can shoot you for wrestling with them on the ground and having a firearm in reach and going for it, however (not to mention why they were there in the first place and the steps that failed to subdue the individual).

By the police, he was going for the firearm. Even if you don't believe that, he still was violently resisting and had it within reach.

The thing that'd make it a bad shoot is if he had no weapon on him.

His family and friends say he was a nice guy....
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nationa ... -1.2700893

but even NY paper has to add in final paragraphs:

his history says:

Quote:
Sterling was a registered sex offender, after a 2000 conviction for carnal knowledge of a juvenile, records show. Records say he was released for his offense in October 2004.

Quote:
He was previously arrested for aggravated battery, criminal damage to property, unauthorized entry and domestic abuse battery, records show. In 2009, he was sentenced to five years in prison for marijuana possession and for carrying an illegal weapon with a controlled dangerous substance.

Family members said he was on probation when he died and would not have been allowed to carry a gun.

BINGO! everyone previously saying he is allowed to carry in La? HE IS A FELON. A felon with ANY gun raises the stakes on how much force is deemed appropriate to subdue.
And he is a felon that has already been caught with illegal firearm before.

I am not a fan of these body cam incidents recently. I mean BOTH officers cams went dead? What are the odds? Or just the live feed? The whole purpose is they how the exact view of officer, not that of cameras at distance that have to have the media edited for detail.

The final two shots look like an accident as that officer was thrown off. Probably why so many "awe fuks" flying . Immediate after that the guy was quiet (dying kinda take all the fight out, unfortunately for dude).
He was fighting mighty hard, probably because he knew what kind of time he was up for not becvuase the call incident but possessing a weapon.

No one should be executed. But lets not get this crusade about what a great guy this was. He was a creepy pedo, woman beater and felon. No one but his momma and Jesus should shed a tear for him.

Holy carp. This site got a shedload of info before it was unsearchable, prolly paid a database keeper.
This guy... is scum. It is almost a guarantee he was fighting arrest to attempt escape and tossing his gun for all his life was worth and more.
I've not noticed this site before. I avoid clickbait usually. Left or Right.
http://gotnews.com/confirmed-bloods-gan ... nvictions/

This guy is no good citizen... technically felons are barely citizens.... no vote, no firearms.

The Black lives matter movement probably need to choose their battles more carefully. This gentleman didn't deserve to die but highlights other inherent socio-demographic problems in their community. He certainly shouldn't be put on a pedestal...nice guy...not...

I'd say Sterling deserved it here, and it has nothing to do with his history.

You don't resist arrest with a weapon (and this is after being tased to no effect).

Not really enough info on that one (video is after the fact), though they'll take the word of the officer over the female companion (courts and whatnot always do, for good or bad).

Not enough but it's cost more lives
http://www.news.com.au/world/north-amer ... ab259ff593

Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton said police wouldn’t have shot and killed Philando Castile if he’d been white and called for justice “with the greatest sense of time urgency.”
“Would this have happened if the driver and the passengers had been white?” Gov. Dayton asked. “I don’t think so.”
