The traditional brass band street march funeral parade for him will be amazing. Would love to be in New Orleans to see it.

I lived there for three months in the 1990s, a very fascinating time of observation and interaction with all kinds of people there. Unexpectedly I met another famous N'Awlins musician Dr John, who came in to a small cafe called Annette's in the French Quarter to have his lunch, and I was there already having mine! In the right place at the right time! I chose it for piece and quiet, maybe he did too :)

I never saw Fats perform but first started to listen to his music in the 1960s. What wonderful musicians have come out of New Orleans, and they still do. Their influence has been vast, even before Louis Armstrong and his contemporaries like Jelly Roll Morton. Wow, just wow..

RIP Fats. Hope there's a piano especially for you in the musical afterlife.

heaven's rock n'roll band is getting bigger and better and brighter as time goes on, with Fats the latest illustrious addition. a self-taught genius, he said the 2 things that made him happy, was to "bring on the blues and the booze." RIP Antoine.

Fats Domino was a great guy, and quite unaffected despite his talent.

If you listen to his pre-1955 music, you hear, in most definite form, the roots of rock-n-roll.

I hope he wasn't in pain when he passed away.

I recommend people go on YouTube and listen to "The Fat Man," which was recorded in December, 1949.
