24% of muslims think 7/7 raids wer an MI5 plot

A CALL by Tony Blair for the “true voice of Islam” to be heard was totally overshadowed last night as a new poll revealed that almost a quarter of British Muslims believe MI5 was responsible for the 7/7 bombings in 2005.

Twenty-four per cent of those quizzed said that the Government or the security services were involved in some way in the attacks on London.

The poll also found 52 per cent believe evidence has been “made up” to convict terrorist suspects, while 24 per cent said they believed the four men identified as the suicide bombers were not actually responsible for the atrocities which killed 52 commuters.

Tory MP Greg Hands said he found the survey “extremely worrying”, adding: “There needs to be a reality check among those who have given their responses to this poll.

“There can be no clearer evidence about the 7/7 bombers than the fact that they died at the scene and that their apparent leader even left a farewell video.

“I find it incredible that almost a quarter of those polled still doubt the facts.”

Sixty-eight per cent of those quizzed for Channel 4 News said they did not believe that the Muslim community bears any responsibility for home-grown suicide bombers attacking UK targets.

However, the survey also found only 32 per cent of British Muslims felt their community was doing enough to address the issue of extremism and 58 per cent felt it should be doing more.

The poll’s findings emerged on the same day that Mr Blair said that “voices of extremism” were unrepresentative of British Muslims and that “greater mutual understanding should be the aim of all of us”.

Yesterday, Mr Blair, who stands down as Prime Minister in a few weeks, announced plans to designate university Islamic Studies courses as “strategically important” and pledged £1million to improve teaching and research.

He added that prayer leaders – Imams – should be trained at British universities to help Muslims integrate into mainstream society.

Mr Blair said too many Islamic religious leaders were coming to Britain unable to speak English properly and with no understanding of western society.

Dr Ghayasuddin Siddiqui, of the Muslim Institute, expressed scepticism about Mr Blair’s plans for homegrown Imams.

He said many local mosque elders were stuck in the past, adding: “They will always go for someone they know from the old country.”

Keith Porteous-Wood, of the national Secular Society, said he was against any state funding for religious training.

He said: “Once you start down this road, everyone will want money for their religious leaders to be trained. All our universities are going to become theological colleges.”

Mr Porteous warned there was also the risk that hardline “infiltrators” would focus their attentions on state-funded training centres and seek to take them over.

The conference will also be attended by Prime Minister-in-waiting Gordon Brown and Tory leader David Cameron.

Mr Blair is expected to devote himself to a mission to bring about religious reconciliation when he leaves office at the end of this month.

Yesterday’s developments follow a row last week over the Government’s plans for tackling Islamic extremism in universities.

Lecturers and other staff in the University and College Union voted to oppose the Government’s calls for them to inform the police about any students who may be deemed to be turning towards extremism.

And the 9/11 bombings were a CIA plot. Everyone's blowing up things except the muslims, right?

The thing that got me was the now admitted "error in the official narrative" http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/5170708.stm was that the train they where first supposed to be on didnt run that day (a minor mistake by the police). The cctv photos place the bombers outside luton station at 7:21 and the train the government now says they got onto left one minute late at 7:25 leaving 4 minutes to get tickets , get across luton station with backpacks full of explosives and get on the train.

The 7:24 train the bombers are supposedly on is delayed and doesnt arrive till 08.23 , the place the next cctv picture is taken at 8:26 is a long underground tube passage and ticket barrier away and again the bombers manage to make it in 3 minutes for the next photo opportunity.

That and the fact that drills where being conducted that day to simulate a series of bombings in the same way as fema just happend to be in new york on 9/11/2001 makes me think something is wrong.

If there isnt anything wrong with the story why no inquiry?

The Peter Power interview on ITN just after the bombings where he tells the reporter that simultaneously to the event his company had been hired to do an exercise practically identical to the events of that day. He is an ex high ranking policeman and his company is some sort of security problem solution type company.

When asked if it were strange that this should be so he seemed to lose his composure briefly and wide eyed and incredulous he said yes it was astonishing.

That and so many pieces of the puzzle do not convince me.
