I left for church two hours ago with England needing an impossible seven or eight runs/over to come back - from around four/over. Imagine my surprise when, upon returning, I find that the two innings tied at 241 and it all comes down to a single super-over from talented newcomer Joffra Archer, which he wins with a spectacular wicket on the very last ball.

England win the World Cup for the first time.
Best ODI ever, perhaps. I'd better stick catch-up on.

I had gone out for a walk, thought I would check in on the score on my phone as I was approaching home and we needed 2 from 1, I listened to that on 5live app on my phone then ran home to watch the super over

never seen, or heard of anything like that happening. Quite incredible. I literally leapt up off my seat when Buttler got the final wicket to win it.

That's very good. Which country did they win against?

That was such a close game. I was watching live updates online.
Oh well, congrats England.

Oh, a smashing game. I popped down the caff and had some tuck and a fag by way of celebration. Hurrah from your favourite Pommie git!

Stepdad hasn't stopped wearing his England cricket shirt since this...

He loves cricket as much as I love football. If it's on he'll watch it, no matter what.

I asked him for the rules when I was a kid but he said it was too complicated for me :(

I think it's the aspie in me that loves cricket. The stats and numbers involved are just wonderful!

Yeah I've said a lot on here, he thinks he'd be aspie if he was born later. Just doesn't see the point of having it confirmed now. He's stats obsessed.

I ask him who's winning and he says it doesn't work like that?

What's your view on assessing the value of a batsman based on their median score rather than the batting average?
