A man handcuffed behind his back in the front seat of a police cruiser was fatally shot in Maryland on monday after a suspected struggle with a police officer.

The incident occured in Temple Hills near Washington,DC around 8 pm after police received a call that a driver a struck other cars, when officers confronted the man they smelled PCP.They handcuffed him and put him in the front seat which is there policy.

An officer entered the drivers seat of the car before he fired his weapon several times, the officer did not have a body camera but investigators are looking for other camera's that may have captured the incident.

The suspect from the police car died from his injuries at a local hospital and has not been identified at this point, the officer is on administative leave right now.

I see a few things messed up about this story. For one, why was their policy to put a suspect in the front seat? Two, how was the guy a threat unless the drugs gave him super human strength and he broke the cuffs?

I bet they put the suspects in front because they let the officers take the police cars home with them, hence the police cars don't have the bars and inside locks other cruisers have. This is what the Connecticut state police does and they put suspects in the front seat so they can see what there doing while driving.

Why not just put lights and sirens on a family car and a baby seat in the back like the "undercover" car from the first Bad Boys movie?
