Valid question and concerns.

A single op-ed piece in a right-wing Canadian tabloid cannot self-validate.

Nope. I talked to my financial advisor for a very long time and he even convinced me to buy some American blue chip equities. He feels confident in the US stock market, at least.

Playing Jeopardy is a good thing too.

PS: Since when is the US an empire?

Most countries are all in the same boat.

How do you figure that?

Only one country’s leader has been referred to as “the leader of the free world,” for several decades.

USA has typically led in a number of ways. World reserve currency, military might, military bases all over the world etc

But now their influence is eroding.

Why single me out when others in this thread disagree with you, The_Face_of_Boo said virtually the same thing before me and you made it clear that you consider my opinions to be worthless.

I would say the US’s influence around the world is lessening—but to call it “eroding” would be an exaggeration.

The real question is why do we keep entertaining the OP's persistent negative fixation.

That would suggest somebody else is increasing their influence?
