IMO it’s a no brainer. Canada should do something similar, too.

That’s probably a good idea. Minus the army-like discipline.

Why minus the army-like discipline? :?

That’s part of what made the program successful both in the moment And for these men’s lifelong benefit.

Because it’s BS. I don’t get your confusion

Adults can work well, and do work well, without that army BS.

I doubt you would like to have some drill sergeant scream at the top of his lungs at you for no good reason.

Treat people like adults, for f**k’s sake.

If you like the army that much, why don’t you enlist? You get great benefits....

Who says it involves verbal abuse? :?

Rigid timelines and discipline are good things. Lights out, sleep, up at a certain time, eat together at a certain time, work hard at a certain time, strict breaks etc. Makes better men than lackadaisical half assed slacking free for all sort of flex time casual work environment.

And I say this as someone who’s late for everything lol I Know it would be Good for me, as it is others, to have a rigid routine.

Military discipline is good - I like that. I’m not interested in enlisting because I don’t want to be part of an organization where my efforts, directly or indirectly, require me to kill people because I’m ordered to. If I’m going to kill anyone it’s going to be on My terms, not because some old man politician told me to do it so others could plunder resources from some defenceless nation. Not my style. IF it were my style I’d enlist to take advantage of university education. But I’d rather work for $ and/or go into debt than follow orders to murder people.

I am capable of working hard without all that lights out, communal crap.

I don’t slack off, yet I’m an individualist who could be a team player.

You don’t understand the potential for abuse under such a system. I’ve been the recipient of abuse under that sort of program.

It might be good for some people. But it’s not good for me.

The CCC with work quotas and no slacking off.....yes!

With army-like discipline....no!

I'm a little baffled why you don't simply focus all your energies on Canada.

We don’t have trump here. If he was prime minister if Canada I’d be ripping on him here for all his bs. But he’s there, sooo..

It’s anti trump. Not anti America. I hardly had anything to say about Clinton, Bush, or Obama.

The change has been trump. He’s just vile. I’m ready for him to die any time now so I can move on to being interested in something else. :)

I agree with kraftiekortie and pepe on this one. Besides, somebody would flip this around to get work done at even lower wages than they do now. Heck - today's society is educated, no comparison. Manual labour to dig a trench - or use an excavator? And have a ready made draft list for this civil/separatist war I keep reading about? (that's supposed to be a joke) Not a solution.

Not when No One is hiring because there are No Jobs. Programs exist like this when governments decide to put people to work on public work projects instead of letting them starve. Often governments run deficits to do this for a few years until the economy picks up again and there are private sector jobs for people to go to. It is a solution. It’s been done before and can be done again.

I thought you would have been spending more of your time mothering Trudeau.
Getting your handkerchief out, spitting on it, and removing the "blackface" schmutz on his face.

So he is only an interstellar moron, then?
Will he dress up in Martian or Alpha Centauri system traditional gear when he visits there,
The way he did in India?
I certainly hope not.
Talk about a faux pas. 8O

And will he correct himself, to make what he is saying more politically correct?
I must give it to him,
He is damned good at virtue-signalling.
