Three men in Queensland Australia have claimed they came across a “yowie” while driving home from work.
The Courier Mail Newspaper reported the three plantation workers were driving on Saturday, December 4, to the Jimna Base Camp when they allegedly spotted “slouched over figure” under a street light. The men said the figure noticed them and turned in their direction.

“We initially thought it was a boar or a really big animal until we got closer and saw it run off in a very apelike way,” Seamus FitzGerald said via the Brisbane publication, describing the mysterious figure as having “very long arms” and an “apelike” face.

“I’ve never really had a paranormal or strange experience like that before. I hardly slept that night and the feeling was overwhelming that I had seen something that I never believed in previously.”

Workmate Stirling Slocock-Bennett said the group was immediately confused when it crossed paths with the unknown entity.

“We were in utter disbelief of what we were seeing,” he said.

“It definitely was a scary moment for me, as I said I was so confused and shook of what we were seeing, and as we got closer and closer it didn’t make sense like you’d hope.”

Locals from the tiny town of Jimna (which has a population of just 91 people) have reportedly claimed to have seen evidence of the supposed yowie in bushland before.

“We went on a few hikes after to see it, but sadly they weren’t organised very well, too many people and too loud,” Mr Slocock-Bennett said.

Did they happen to work in a brewery, distillery, or "weed" farm?

Always worth remembering that we are still finding new species. What other two legged beings are out there that we haven't discovered yet?

My mind is open to such possibilities if the science supports it. Grainy videos and e-fits don't quite prove anything.

Out of all those people, no one carried a camera, mobile phone, or tablet device; what is up with that?

This is not a photograph.

Is Queensland experiencing a slump in its tourism industry?

It could have been a big homeless person....

They really should have taken a picture of it. This would have added to their credibility, at least somewhat.

If this was at night, it could have been a shadow? Shadows do play mind-tricks on you.

I keep warning him. This happens every time Pepe leaves his house.

Most everyone has a phone with a reasonably high resolution camera these days.
But when they see ape-men and and little green men, either there's no picture, or there's a picture that looks like it was taken with a potato.

When three people encounter a creature without warning, and the whole encounter only takes seconds, its not surprising that none of the three would be quick thinking enough to pull out a smart phone, fumble around with the apps, and then level the camera just right, and then order the cryptid to hold still and pose in it's key light (the exact correct angle of light to show off the cryptid's model good looks), and then hold the phone camera steadily at the right direction while the creature poses, to take a lovely portrait.

Thats if you're talking about any one particular encounter. Even if the thing was real its not likely a person would capture a good pic of it on any particular encounter. Unless they were already on a well equiped video safari looking to photograph the beast.

But on the other hands because both still photography, and even videography, has become more and more wideley available over time there should be an overall trend in getting more and better pics of these things.

That iconic pic (the one that Misslizard used above) is from the Patterson film taken by a guy on horseback with a big handheld movie (not video, movie) camera in 1967. By the Eighties home movie cameras gave way to home video cams for consumers. And now even that more consumer friendly format has been left in the consumer dust by 21st century minaturized digital tech (in phones for example).

So there should have been a steady increase in the number of good bigfoot vids since the Patterson Film in 1967.

Has there been? Depends on whom you talk to.

Yep, this is my understanding with reports of sasquatch as well. The creature seems to prefer to avoid humans and is "flitty" like a small bird so doesn't hang around to pose for the camera.

It tends to be hikers who come across bigfoot and in the dark forest with poor lighting they usually pack their cameras in their backpacks so by the time they consider taking a photo, the Yeti has run deep into the woods.

The three men had just finished working a shift at a banana plantation in far north Queensland so were pretty tired.

Often when people are confronted by something extraordinary their brain has to process the thing in front of them for a couple of minutes before they remember they have a camera. Then they fiddle with the bloody device (I know, I have had little luck trying to film birds or aeroplanes, try it its damn hard)
