Photos: Putin keeps his distance during meetings

I noticed this before in photos of diplomatic talks with Makron. It was quite comical. I thought perhaps it was a subtle insult, like him previously unleashing his large pet dog on Merkel who had a known phobia.

It could be Putin's personal COVID protocol, or he's paranoid about a close contact neurotoxin assassination, or the like. Seems doubtful it was an ego display.
