Two Russian "geniuses"... or actual geniuses?

Ukrainian sources tell a story of two Russian "geniuses" who asked for fuel at a local police station.

However, after some consideration, I think they may be actual geniuses - by pretending to be complete idiots, they got away from fighting without surrender or desertion. They just stay in Ukrainian prison and whoever wins, probably won't blame them.

They may be way smarter than they're painted.

Time will tell.

The guys who tattooed swastikas on themselves not so much... Gonna work out great for them in the post-war state where ideology of hate, speech, and symbols will be criminalized.

I read in a western report a statement from a governor who used the word "cleansed" yesterday in the context of combat. Lit my fuse again. This word choice seeps even into western news coverage that goes to great lengths to keep it PC normally.

It’s called Socratic irony.

Reminds me of a near opposite anectdote.

It was in the final weeks of the war in Pacific, after the two A-bombs had been dropped.

A pair of American pilots wanted to be the first conquering Americans to set foot upon defeated Japan. So they stole away in their aircraft, flew from their island base to Japan, and landed at a Japanese airstrip. The Japanese personnel who greeted them informed them that "no, the Emperor hasnt surrendered yet. Our countries are still at war. Sorry."

But the Japanese refueled their plane, said farewell, and just let them fly back to their American airbase.

Didnt kill em, nor capture them, nor anything of the sort.
