So...what do you think is the identity of the creature captured wandering around the Amarillo zoo by the security cam?

It's just a furry who wandered off drunk from a con.

Thats...actually a possibility. I wonder if there was an actual Furry Convention held in Amarillo that night.

I find it interesting that this single frame is all that's being presented, rather than the entire footage. As someone who's worked with surveillance cameras for over 20 years, I know that single frames can come out quite distorted.

A little investigating it seems the image was captured on a security/game (trial) camera posted at a perimeter fence outside the Amarillo Texas zoo and it was posted/shared to a private zoo/gamekeeper facebook group where the user was asking the other members what it is?. One of the users decided to share it with a wider audience and hence it went viral. There doesn't appear to be any moving image captured from the camera as the video alleges.

On the matter of this being a hoax. We can discount the person being an adult dressed up as a werewolf because the fence is 8m tall which puts the person as 4ft tall. So it could be a dwarf or a child but why they would be wandering on their own at 1am in the morning in pitch darkness is kind of weird.

Alternatively it's been photoshopped as a prank on the zookeeper facebook page, Only problem is that the image appears to be feed and the creature is behind the fence which should be easy to debunk if it was photoshopped.

If these two options can be crossed off then we have something interesting.

The figure is crouching and a certain distance from the fence.

The figure seems to have its left leg crossing its body as if its turning away from the camera. But its upper body, and face are turned back toward the camera. As if it were starting to walk away, but then changed its mind to look back toward the camera at something (some sound?).

But that line that appears to cross the right leg and looks like the back of the left leg could be just an artifact of the chain link fence. And the figure is just standing there facing the camera at a slight angle with its knees slightly bent.

I am just wondering if this is all just a prank to promote the zoo to the public?

Some local newscasters in the online vids have jokingly suggested that it was just a prank to promote the zoo.

Or alternatively... that the Capitol Riot guy with the buffalo headress (the Q-anon shaman) escaped.

That little box that appears in your picture ...when the cursor lands on the picture. Something curious happens when you click on that box.

I thought that the icon was for making the pic bigger. But instead a window opened up on the right of my screen. That says "looks like". Click the box in the copy of the pic in that window and...it ids it as a looking like ..."a white tailed deer".

And then shows a Wiki article about white tailed deer.

So...the internet "thinks" that that figure is a white tailed deer!

Interesting app that you linked to. Even if its wrong that interesting that there is an app that tries to id pics for you.

But HOW is that a "white tailed deer"? Its walking upright on two legs. Has no antlers.
