He does remark on today's extreme focus on it, from which a long philosophical and psychological conversation could be had about why now, it's effects on people, how people are manipulated, the blatant false virtue so many simper to, and who wins and loses. Or you can use it as a jumping off point to embellish into something that comfortably fits a predetermined worldview.
It's called "dog whistling" a subtly aimed political message which is intended for MAGAs, but can only be understood by everyone when they read between the lines.
But, it's also a strategy Joseph Goebbals would be familiar with from the 1930s. A form of propaganda and a form of book burning. MAGA's plan in Project 2025 to make America great again involves brainwashing the masses Orwellian style. I am familiar with this because in Australia we have it too, it's called "history wars".
effectively the conservative white power structure wants to present a solely positive view of colonial history. Dilute and water down genocide, whites only policies and slavery (yes we also had slavery too) and present a history based on heroic colonist settlers and a romanticised view of heritage incorporating manifest destiny and justice (highlight all the "enlightened" things colonialism bought to non-European folk).
In order to achieve this Project 2025 has several goals:
1. Attack and remove non-white migrants using ICE
2. Discourage immigration from non-white countries
3. encourage white migration (refer to white south Africans)
4. Push the great replacement theory
5. Make DEI illegal
6. Ban books and research projects classified as DEI
7. Remove items in museums or public spaces classified as DEI
8. Spread propaganda that is white ethnonationalist under the guise of patriotism
Museum thing in this thread falls under both 6 and 7.
It's actually nothing new
