Story

Image

The campaign of presidential candidate Barack Obama has accused Hillary Clinton's campaign of fear mongering for circulating this photo of Obama in traditional African garb.

Personally, I don't see what's so racist about it. Let's just say it, Obama looks silly in those clothes, but who would Hillary expect to not vote for him based on his fashion sense? Obama looks like an organ grinder's monkey in those clothes, and no that's not a racist thing to say. It's not like Obama is the only presidential candidate I have accused of looking like a monkey before.

Yeah I was mortified when I saw this photo, thinking how it can be distorted so wrongly and can be used against him. It isn't a secret he has visited his father's homeland many times but how it is going to be made a big issue. When are people going to acknowlege that this is a country of mostly immigrants except for the native americans and that some of the few people who cherish american values so much, are the immigrants since they know what it is like in some places outside of america. I think it is good to acknowledge where we come from.

You should see some of the funny-looking outfits worn at Asia-Pacific leaders meetings.

There are many photos of the Australia Prime Minister looking pretty silly.

Did you click the link? It had some pictures of other politicians (Hillary included) dressed... interestingly.

Now I'm scared, maybe I am racist. I lied when I said that ^. I have said that Bush looks like a chimp, not a monkey. Chimps aren't monkeys. Should've remembered that.

I guess the idea is for people to see Obama wearing a turban to promote the whole "We're fighting Muslims but we're about to elect one to lead us!" crap. I dislike Obama, but its completely wrong to smear him too with such out-of-context photographs and circulate them around knowing people are going to draw false conclusions about it. >_<

But Bush definitely looks like a chimp!

Saddest thing is, it'll probably work.

I wish someone would properly explain to me what "Politics" means. The only definition I can come up with is the soulless exploitation of another persons fear, sadness, ambition or pain in order to achieve the "greater good."

No wonder I don't vote.

Just because Obama looks like the monkey in this picture.

Isn't going to stop me from voting for him in the primary. Obama would have to prove to me that he's even worse than McCain or Clinton to lose my vote. I didn't vote for Bush not because he looked like a chimp, but because he is a moron. Hell, I'd vote for a real chimpanzee over most of the politicians out there.

I guess it's the turban, fez's are so much cooler than turbans. Although if that's the case Hillary is being awfully hypocritical because the link I posted also had a picture of her with a rag over her head.

He looks really young there...

It's almost like a kid goes to an Indian Pow Wow and he gets to put on the feathered head-dress and wear some wrap around him over his pants... Would they then try to claim that he sympathizes with radical Native Americans and must surely be out to destroy the american government for genocide of his people? You can see Obama has regular street clothing underneath, just like any other tourist..
I think this tactic definitely backfired... I don't know if Hillary herself knew anything about it, but it was definitely a "low blow"...

Actually the photo was taken in 2006. Barack's about 44-45 in it. It seems so stupid and blatantly underhanded it makes you wonder if Obama circulated it himself just to make Hillary look dumb... 8O Doubt it.

Now if Hillary could track down an older, more embarrassing picture of Barack Obama..

LOL!! Wouldn't that be something to see marching down the street at some KKK parade? HA!
(I've never seen a KKK parade and really wouldn't want to be anywhere near one, personally tho!)

I thought about it for a moment... and realized that I fit in with "normal" society about as well as a lilac-hooded gay, black jewish woman at a KKK rally!! ! Like, she's trying to "fit in" and "mesh" with the rest of the people, a lilac hood in a sea of white-hoods, but she will never fit in -- no matter how hard she tries.. it's kindof funny in a twisted kindof way!

I've seen a lot of comments about Obama looking too "young". Is that WASP-Speak for "Black"?
