Thanks for that post. It was really cool to see Alex quoted on that website. Actually, that website used to get on my nerves, early in my quest for answers on Autism. I am glad to see opinions from someone who is actually on the spectrum!

Same here !
IMHO, there needs to be more of the Wrong Planet p.o.v. (which includes a wide range of perspectives) and less of the annoyingly skewed p.o.v. of Autism Speaks.
Who speaks for people like me ? I can tell you which organization/group does NOT.

And Alex got some expectedly snotty and condescending comments in the replies. Apparently some parents of autistics think Alex is their kid too. Keep self-advocating, Alex, and all of you in the autistic vanguard. I have a couple of very nice little Aspies coming up and I am grateful for all that you do to smooth their way.

Don't worry, I set them straight. And for once I was able to do it with a logical argument rather than threats :D .
