I have. I was a fan of his and his writing style heavily influenced mine (he was also an influence on another of my influences, Chuck Klosterman - he's never admitted to it, but the influence is obvious). I suggest you check A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again (an essay collection which features the title essay, a wonderful piece on cruise lines) and Infinite Jest (a 1000+ page book which it's last 40 or so pages are footnotes) out of the library. They're fine works. The world has lost one of it's best essayists.

I cried when I read the news, but thanks for letting us know.

He will always be my favorite writer.

Endnotes topic

Because he died so tragically and so young, his infamy is guaranteed like Kurt Cobain, John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janice Joplin, James Dean and Franz Kafka, among others.

If there is an afterlife, it is one creative hell of a heavenly place. :P
