Um, well, if someone is going to attempt to steal something, thats the price they pay! He has every right to put that up!

criminals are people too...people that shoot be shot.

He had a single strand of barbed wire 3 feet high surrounding his property. Very flimsy security. All a thief has to do is throw a heavy blanket over a section of it and simply climb over it.

Thieves, hahaha! They get what they deserve just like those pirates who stole toxic waste!

I don't possibly see how an adult thief injured trying to climb over barbed wire would have any grounds for winning a lawsuit.

The only duty of care that a property has towards an adult trespasser in this particular circumstance is not to willfully or wantonly injure someone by placing traps or hazards on your property.

Barbed wire is an obvious danger that anyone with ordinary judgement can avoid.

Good I hope they get tetnus. Isnt that the point to deter them? And if it isnt the barbed wire, then the dogs, the alligator filled moat, or my shot gun

I can understand this guys pain.
My dad used to have an alotment when our garden wasnt big enough to satify his gardening needs. so he got an alotment to grow more veg.
To see him put all that work in (after work) and have it ruined is horible.
To gaurd it with somthing as flimsy as barbed wire they deserve what they get. They have no place being there, i dont care if they are minors. When i was a kid and didnt things i shouldnt have, i remember getting hurt a few times cause i wasnt suposed o be there. It tought me a lesson.

Simply another case of our authorities taking the side of the lawless against innocent and law abiding folk.

You're also not allowed to engage in self-defense anymore if you hurt your assailant.

Hypothetically...
If thieves are legally protected, then simply steal all your stuff back.
Then you get the same opportunity to sue for injuries as the original thieves did.

But more reasonably...
Sue for losses and damages by thieves enabled and legally protected by the law.
Sue the town for aiding and abetting and permitting crimes against you.

Either theft is legal or it is not legal.

I would have eletrified it as well!
