I recently read about a lady who sued her good friend. This friend had risked her own life to save this lady when she was pinned in an overturned car that could have exploded at any moment. Well, apparently, the good-hearted, quick-thinking rescuer lady may have accidentally done her friend some permanent physical damage, during her haste to save her life. So, the saved woman is suing her rescuer, who is also her close friend. That, IMO, is a person who deserves to be left to die. Mercy would still move me to save her even if I knew she'd sue me for any mistakes I make during the rescue, but she deserves to die in the wreck, plain and simple.
Talk about new levels of ingratitude! And the California court actually decided to let the lawsuit proceed, since her friend was not a trained and qualified rescuer!
I guess the next time her friend sees someone trapped in a life-and-death situation where seconds count, she'll just yell out: "Oh, hey, that sucks that you're in this predicament! I'd help, but, you see, I'm not a qualified rescuer. The California court system has taught me not to rescue people until I have the proper training, so, please don't mind that I'm about to let you die. Good luck!
"
