I consider myself an agnostic theist. I believe that there must be something out there that started all this, and that there must be some kind of afterlife, but I don't think any human being could ever define what exactly either of those things is. I was raised as a Christian and have gone to Catholic private schools all my life, but once I reached my teen years and began questioning things my religion suddenly didn't make sense to me anymore. For instance, I don't think there's anything wrong with homosexuality, but my family's faith condemns it. I was confused for about two years but now I've developed a faith of, well, not having a faith. I think that as long as I try to be a good person and follow my own moral code I'm just as "worthy" a human being as those who practice organized religion.

Nope, dosen't make any sense, does it? I'm logical and the idea of God certainly isn't.

No, I don't think a god is neccesary.

And if it isn't neccesary, why call it a god, even if there is something godlike?

I don't believe in God. One of my biggest interests is all the different cultures and peoples of the world and it seems quite arrogant to me how people can still maintain Christianity, a religion that proclaims itself as the only true one, when most of the people in the world do not believe it. Once you've lost your religion there is no reason to keep believing in God.

well first let me say...no organized religion. I can't stand it. and no [language removed - M.] community stuff either. what I believe belongs to me and nobody else. I believe that I can be my own goddess. and that works fine for me. and nobody can interfere with that. but yes I do believe in like spirits and stuff..I reckon they are out there. :?

I'm Wiccan, so I do not believe in a single God that is human and a man, but I believe that there is a spiritual power from the many deities.

Given the options of the poll, no. But the poll should have more options. God can mean different things.

I don't believe. I will start believing when someone provides evidence of the sort you can't deny. At the moment believing in something like God sounds a bit silly to me. No offence intended to any believers.

But let's say I made up some sort of creature like the spaghetti-monster and tell everyone it's the origin of everything, that it created us and everything else. What's the difference exactly with the concept of God? Right, no difference at all. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Monster if you are wondering where I'm trying to go with these statements.

Yes, I do believe in God. Though, I also believe in Freedom of Religion. I don't force my religion on others and think others should be allowed to believe in what they want to. We're not stupid or anything, it's just a belief. Sure, Christianity hasn't been proven but then again, niether has the big bang. They're all theories. The big bang and evolution is NOT scientific fact like that cell system. I also believe that nothing in life is really "chance".. I believe a lot of things given to me are signs of God. Even tiny little things like making it to school on time or being able to cross the busy highway right away. I actually watched a documentary of the columbine with a friend a couple days ago and it was a speech by the Father who's daughter asked "Do you believe in God?" and there were SO many things in his life before the shootings that I swear gave signs of a God. His daughter knew that she wouldn't live to get married, have kids, ect. Also, in her diary, there were many things that later on when he looked at them gave signs. And, some people actually had dreams of certain things relating to it like a year before the shooting. I found that amazing. One guy actually had a dream of a Rose crying tears of blood, called the Father asking if it meant anything to them, he said no at the time, and, 6 months after the shooting, the Dad was looking through his daughters diary and saw the crying rose inside and was the last thing she had put into it. There were TONS of signs. But, that's kjust my belief.

Ah, well, (I am a Pastafarian, myself)

But I have learned in life that you don't start believing until the evidence is provided by you, for you in a way that absolutely blows your mind. That clarity of thought that pierces through the cynical, slides thorough the logical and totally makes sense to no one but yourself.

That is having an intimate personal touch with something bigger than yourself.
nothing else is needed and I don't think you can bring that to someone else, so I don't proselytize much . :D

No, I'm not much of a believer. I like real evidence, not any "you're going to hell for not believing in God and praying to Jesus" and whatnot.

Maybe there is a higher-order being out there, but if such is proven to be true, maybe then I'll believe. But in both cases, I don't believe in religion, it's too much of a shroud for people's (sometimes illegal or what I find immoral) actions.

Agnostic, so much to prove otherwise. God is not proved well, in my opinion.
