I sit off in the corner by the vending machines if I'm hungry and sit in the library if I'm not (I'm not allowed to eat in there). I've actually had several offers by people I rather like to go sit with them at lunch, but I can't bear to get near the tables (I did try the first few days, but ended up having to retreat after fifteen minutes). Fortunately they accepted the explanation with little fuss.

You aren't allowed to eat anywhere but the cafeteria, but as long as you have a pass (and I have a permanent one, thanks to teachers that noticed me reading by the vending machines and wondered what was up) you can head into the library during any free period you like, so I've become accustomed to curling up in one of the easy chairs there with either Time, a book of poetry, or a biology book (my school library's fiction section is miniscule) and whiling away lunch by reading. I don't mind skipping lunch to get out of the cafeteria, especially if I grab a snack before I leave for school. Thankfully the librarians and I are rather fond of eachother; I've discovered that librarians generally like anyone who reads a lot and treats books with respect.

My HS has open campus so I run off to the nearest store & hang out until noon when I go back and eat. If I have HW to finish, then I run off to the Commons area & work there. I do not have problems with anyone but some IEP students happen upon me & we talk. Usually, I sit in front of the library eating from my lunch bag so I don't have a problem with other students.

For freshman and sophomore years our acting team either ate lunch back stage or in our secret passageway behind our team's classroom (that place was amazing, we had four book shelves, a million bean bags and pillows, posters all on the walls, lava lamps, board games, a place to hang up clothes that we somehow left at school). But this year our coach left us, so we have to face the lunchroom. It's awful. Luckily, the teachers allow some kids to sit at the back of the cafeteria on the floor. That's where most of the weird or smart kids sit.

Since I had a handful of friends in high school who all had the same lunch period as I did, I ate with someone. I prefer to eat alone, though. That way, I can talk to myself, listen to music, read, or just do whatever. Most importantly, I don't have to be held back. I can eat and then leave, not having to wait around for others to finish. I very rarely eat with someone here at college, and if I do, it's planned. Ooh, do I get mad when somebody I know unexpectedly comes over and asks to sit with me!! :x

I like lunch period at my my middle school. I usually eat the school lunch (they have different things, none of which are very healthy, but I wish they were) and then I go to the library to surf wikipedia when they allow us to go to the library. But what I don't get about my cafetaria is that you have to buy water! The drinks that you can choose from when you get your meal at my school are either tea, lemonade, or fruit punch. We also can't bring our backpacks to lunch with us either. You have to put it in your locker, which means that I have more homework than I could have if I could do my homework during the rest of lunch. Also, instead of having 3 lunches (one for each grade) like we've done for the past 2 years, there are only 2 different lunch periods now.

in high school i do my homework during lunch so, it's most likely that you'll be able to bring your backpack to lunch in 9th grade

I have lots of trouble finding a good place to sit down myself. They don't allow food in places such as the library where it's quiet and not so many people. I take longer then most to find a place to sit becuse I want the most empty table as possible. My friends are no exceptons, sadly. I just want to eat in peace :( But other then that, lunch is usually fun.

I can really relate to you there. Wiki is a real hobby of mine, just looking up things I've read... Reading printouts at the bus stop... The sheer ammount of information is fantastic.

I live 3 minuets from school so every free and lunch I go home, which relives a lot of stress. But if I have lessons either side of brake I stay in school, so I normally run to a computer and look like I’m doing something important.

In year 7 I used to just go to the Main hall and eat whereever there was a spare seat (people who had packed lunches didn;t have access to tables). If there wasn't anywhere I would just go and sit outside. Did this in Year 8 too.

Now that some of the buildings have been knocked down and rebuilt there are less places outside to eat. In year 9 they let us go to our Form rooms for dinner so i just went there. There was usually only about 15 people so not a problem. When we got banned from there for making a mess or other I hated it because I had no where else to go.

In Year 10 and now Year 11 I go and eat in the Support for Learning deparment where there is a small quiet room with some computers. There are a couple of other people with Asperger's Syndrome who go there as well. I now quite enjoy dinner times ;)

Oh come on guys, what's with all of the "I have nowhere to sit" going on? Don't you want to have any fun?

My lunch period, while short, is great. Where I am, lunches go by grade. My school cafeteria is laid out in sections like this, and I sit at B4 with four of my closest friends. Seven or eight more of my friends sit over at B5, so we can just turn around in our seats and talk to them. I have some friends in F, a couple in C, and a couple more in A as well. Sometimes the kids from B2 and C4 come over and hang out with us too, so it's never lonely. We talk about everything from video games to the current hot gossip, and it never gets boring. The principal always threatens to give us all assigned seats if people don't clean up their trash, so we always have a laugh making fun of him. There's not a dull moment during lunch, and I love it.

eh, I do sit with my Anime/Manga obsessed friends. The only things I hate:

1) The lunch is teh suck
2) I don't think the lunch they serve is really healthy anyways
3) Lunch prices are WAY too high. I'm talking $3 for a normal lunch. Take $60 for your lunch account and in 2.5 weeks, it's almost gone!

Best food they serve: STROMBOLI!! :D
