for those guys that shave, do you usually use an electric or manual razor? and what age could you grow a full beard at?

i usually shave twice a week with an electric razor (ive always used one and i dont have to shave often because my facial hair is blonde) but i havent shaved my chin area for 2 months so i kinda have a goatee thing going, at the moment, if i didnt shave i could grow a mustache, sideburns, and a goatee but not a full beard. i am just curious but at what ages could you guys grow a full beard at?

and i take it that europeans and middle easterners tend to grow the thickest and most facial hair

Manual, I have no experience with an electric. I can't grow a full beard.

I shave either never, every couple days or daily. Depending on how hard I'm trying to keep up my appearance.

I'm mostly French.

I've always used a manual razor - never tried an electric one.

I kind of a baby face, and I think that facial hair looks really stupid on me, so I shave it all off every morning. I have no idea how long it can grow, since I'd rather not let it grow out to find out. Lol

Manual, though I use an electric sometimes when I'm in a rush. I hate electrics, though -- the metal-foil/metal-surface makes my skin (metaphorically) crawl. There's also some satisfaction of washing all the glop off after using a manual. "Fresh start to the day," and such.

I'm 40 and still can't pull off a proper goatee (and I don't like the Van Dyke look), which is most likely the result of 50% Asian DNA. On the upside, I'll never have to shave my shoulders or back.

electric rotary shaver only, 'cept when i was in the army when they made us use blades which cut the skin on my neck to shreds. i was only allowed to stop using the blade when i got out of training. when i was an adolescent, i only started shaving at 16, after i was told in school that my face and neck looked like an armpit.

I use an electric. I can't grow a full beard yet, but I have feeling that it's not very long until I get one.

Honestly, an electric is better for your skin than a blade. I've used both and every where I've cut myself with a blade there is a little scar now. Looks bad up close.

As far as when you will be able to grow a beard, that depends on your genes and other factors. Your parents older brothers can give you a better idea. In my case, I could grow full sideburns by 16 and a full mustache by 18. I've never tried to grow a full beard - at least not on purpose. My older brother couldn't grow a mustache until he was 21.

some people my age could probobly grow full beards. the wikipedia article says that most men do not finish developing a full until beard until their early 20s and sometimes later and that usually only european and middle easterners can grow full ones. i have never tried to grow a mustache but i assume i could and i could grow sideburns but i always shave them

Honestly, growing facial hair is nothing more than a male rite of passage thing. Once you've proven that you can do it, shave it off. If you want to look good, you want to expose as much of your face as possible. The exception being if you have a hideous skin disease or a nasty birthmark or something. When you get older, facial hair can conceal wrinkles and stuff like that. But for someone under 30, facial hair is usually a negative. There are exceptions because some guys clearly make it work for them, but they are in the minority.

I personally use a manual razor, I find it to give better results
