I want to know how to get diagnosed, seeing as I want to find out by myself without my mum getting involved, yet. If I went to a psychologist she would immediately, should I just go to my GP? Could they refer me to someone?

Just going to bump this for interest...

Would you let your mother be aware of it... even if she wasnt to get involved?

Is there a paediatrician around you somewhere?

if you have the symptoms you don't have many friends, and you have trouble in school then yeah. i mean like thats all a psych is going to ask you anyway so i would just go ahead and call you autistic or AS based on what the symptoms are if you do meet criteria.

Im not to sure how it would work in your country but yes see your gp because they should be able to tell you who you should see and most likely to see this person you would need a referal from them anwyay. Whatever comes and goes i think you should let your mum know and go through it together. Coping with the fact that you have aspergers and are different is really hard and you need to have your loved ones support you and help you get over the fact that you are different and do have it. Plus to see the right people to get diagnosed it would cost money which im assuming your mum would have to pay for and she would also have to sign stuff seeing as there health proffesionals. (pretty sure thats how it works anyway)

Thanks, I'm not sure I'll go yet, seeing as I have others things to be doing, but I think I'll take my mum with me.

Thanks for your advice :-)
