I think it might be better if you were around a bit longer and got to know people before deciding they are a troll.

Actually, best way to check is to look at all their posts in their profile.

If they're a troll, it should be obvious.

Oh yeah, if I had time I would look at more posts, there seem to be some older posts that were very good but will be covered over on this busy board.

I used to have a list of sites that explained what trolls were and how to spot them not sure how relevant they would be for this place though.

This is the haven. Even if sufi were a troll she could come here to vent if she needed to. Clearly sufi did or said something she regrets and keeps playing it over in her head.

I feel your pain sufi. I'd tell you not to beat yourself up over it but I'd be a damn hypocrite if I did. Hang in there OK? You're not stupid. You're just your own worst critic.

You shouldn't be so hard on yourself. It will damage your self-esteem.

Replace all of those "stupids" with "great". The more you say positive things about yourself, the more you will begin to believe it.

OK PIE - now i feel really stupid. I read your post and thought 'don't feed the troll' was advice like 'don't feed your demons' I did not know what a troll was in internet term. After reading the following posts I looked it up.
No, I am not a troll. I am a 59 year old, with grandkids and I own a kick-ass diner. I only found out about aspergers a month ago. I felt like I found something that finally explained me. All my life I have been so isolated from the rest of the world and I could never figure out why life is just so damn hard all the time. I am just trying to figure all this out. I have told no one - probably never will and see no reason to.

I guess some of the time I know I am not too stupid. I went to college at 47 just to prove it and although I got a degree with a good gpa I still often don't feel it. I always make mistakes, always screw up, and make bad decision. I have the habit of trying to hide my mistakes or fix them before anyone finds out because I just can not handle everyone knowing how bad it really is. Most of my life is trying to pick myself up, dust myself off and start again. The past two years have been very difficult and I am having trouble picking myself up this time. I suppose I will get there eventually. or just end up a bag lady. one of the two.

Thank you to everyone else. I will try to focus on positive.
