My beloved little kitty Action!cat had a seizure in my bed early this morning. I don't know why I woke up right before it started, but she had a full tonic-clonic seizure and I took her to the emergency vet, where she continued to seize and I knew it was time to let her go.
She was only about 11 years old (we think) but had some health problems and I knew a few months ago that she wouldn't live a full long cat life.
This was my favorite cat ever. She was so sweet and right now she would be sitting on the armrest of my computer chair if she were still here. I miss her so bad already.
I wish I had a better picture of her, but this is the best I can find right now.

riverotter, that must have been terrible to watch your little kitty seize and die. I'm sorry for your loss.
From personal experience, I'm not going to lie, losing a pet of ANY kind is devastating if you loved them...and by your post, I can tell that you did love your kitty very much.
Some people find that getting another pet can be helpful when losing one, and some others find that getting another pet will be too hard because they will feel like they are replacing their previous pet.
What are you going to do? Are you going to get another cat or not just yet?
Sometimes when i've lost a pet, I've made a headstone for them and layed it ontop of the place where they were burried. Did you burry your kitty? If so, this might be something that you'd like to try but I know that for many people it would be too hard, so your choice.
If she wasn't burried, maybe you could write her a card or letter telling her that you'll miss her and whatever else you want to write and burry that in her memory...perhaps in her favourite spot in the garden or yard (if you have one).
Anyway, make sure that you take care of yourself. Treat yourself to something you enjoy and most importantly, grieve.
