F**** wish I could remember the damn last name of some people....I am feeling guilty about years ago when i was still in highschool, my family had dinner and what not with another family due to my brother being sort of friends with their kid, and his dad was a boyscouts leader at the time. Well once they went out of town and had us feed their pets....that is when I found out they had a cat they kept locked in a room...stuck in its own piss and feces. And you know what I did absolutely nothing....that poor cat probably died in that room with no affection but for the life of me I cannot remember their last name.

I want to find out, report them(granted I have no solid evidence aside from what I saw) or at the very least I'd like to find the facebooks of the mom and dad of that kid....so at the very least I could b*** them out for being so disgusting to treat a cat that way...I just wish I could do something......feel so guilty I didn't just let the cat out, even if it didn't survive in the wild at least it would have had a chance to be out of that nasty room and get some fresh air and run around a little in the open before death....but I didn't so much as open the door and let it out....was worried of being grounded for not minding my own buisiness(was a minor at the time) but that would have been so much better than the guilt I still feel to this very day about seeing that horrible situation and doing nothing, absolutely nothing.......WTF! why couldn't I have just let the cat out.

What do I do....I just feel like they need to pay somehow for that, they can't just get away with it and live out their lives......I can't accept that....yet its likely there is nothing I can do tos top them from continuing their blissful existence having abused/neglected a poor cat...I hope they die horrid deaths worse than dying in a room filled with their own piss and feces after years of isolation. F*** those people if only I had a name to track down.

Truthfully, this is a case for Karma.

Let Karma exact its revenge.

You really can't do anything at this point. Even if you had solid evidence, the "statute of limitations" has probably run out--as it's been at least seven years since you've been in high school.

I just don't understand why I didn't open the damn door, that is all I had to do....open a freaking door and let the cat out so simple and I did nothing. I knowingly passively took part in the horrible death and life that cat must have had by doing nothing.....and it was as simple as opening a door or even the window f***!

Even if I can't do anything legally I wish I had a name to go on so just in case this sicko is still a boy scout leader or in any position like that it should be known what was done to that cat....so people don't trust him around their children or in general. But hopefully karma is real, or maybe i should get back into Satanism(not that leveyan atheism/satanism) and figure out a way to curse that piece of garbage.

I can relate to how your feel. I'm a lover of cats myself.

I have regrets from when I was a kid myself. I almost got a kid in serious trouble once because of a lie of mine--but I retracted my story, so the kid wasn't arrested.

You felt powerless to do anything at the time. You were young. I wish we could bring the cat back, and make up for all the abuse he/she had to put up with.

I agree Karma will find them, I wouldn't advocate Facebook exposure either.
If you did track them down your post could aggravate them into harming any new pet they might have, that's how animal abusers seem to operate unfortunately.

Karma, voodoo(which I admittedly know nothing about) or the spiritual satanism, except to curse one there is a cost to ones self...weird religion(if you can really call it one, which not really as its not quite defined any specific way)...seem to be the only solutions. I guess the karma thing takes the least amount of energy.

Voodoo is a religion. It's a somewhat Christianized, animist religion of Dahomey (now Beninese) origin. I forgot the exact tribe, but it's the most common tribe of Benin. It is most common in Haiti.

It's very similar, in many respects, to the Yoruba/Christian mixture which some people call Shango. Shango seems to be a branch of "Spiritual Baptists." It is fairly common in the West Indies.

Well its not the whole religion I'd be after per say, even if I found a religion I entirely agreed with I'd have a hard time following it..., but yeah as I said don't know much about it except supposedly some who practice it do rituals to influence things(I may be wrong, but thats the impression I've had)

In basic terms, Voodoo is a religion of West African origin which uses Christian entities, at times, to replace African gods--as slaves were severely punished for practicing African religions. Most of the rituals are of African origin--there are sprinklings of Christianity in these rituals. In its strictest form, it is practiced mostly in Haiti and by Haitians in the US.

Looser versions are practiced in other West Indian countries, and in places where West Indians migrate (e.g., the US). I know of a version known as Shango, which is practiced in Trinidad and Tobago, and by Trinis in the US. The origin of Shango, however, is different from that of Voodoo (aka Veldun [spelling?]). Voodoo has its origins in Dahoney/Benin; Shango in Nigeria, from the Yoruba tribe.

Was the room actually locked so that you physically could not get in? How did you know a cat was there?

I am a cat lover so I reserve a special place in hell for someone that would abuse a cat.

Hmmm well I certainly know more about it than I did before...lol but getting into a belief for the purpose of attempting to do a ritual to cause harm to someone even who did do something terrible probably is not the right kind of motivation and would probably be a dis-respect to the religion but I always have been a bit curious about it either way.

Its strikes a chord with me as well.

It would be easy enough to ask your dad or mom or brother the name of "that family"(without saying why), and then for you to do what you gotta do on Facebook. Whatever that might be. Defaming them? Or calling them all on the carpet about it?

But is that really the best way to restore the balance?

Instead of thinking about revenge, maybe its more productive to think about atonement (for your own inaction at the time).

If you're thinking about doing volunteer work anyway maybe you could consider doing a stint at an animal shelter. Just a thought. Dont mean to sound like Im beating up on you. Just thinking that there might be a more productive way to get closure on this.

They don't remember the last name either...but my mom said she thinks they actually got divorced and so probably got rid of the cat or maybe just left it outside not sure they would have bothered putting effort into finding him/her a home. So made me feel a little better knowing the cat may very well have made it out of that situation. Some people would think oh poor cat being left outside...however cats are little beasts a cat we have now was a stray living up in the mountains who sort of started hanging around till we took her in...so they can live outside and hunt to eat and they sometimes will find themselves homes like that cat we have did for all we know she was abandoned and just looking for another family to live with. So perhaps that other cat made it.....but either way it is in the past so does no good to beat myself up over it I guess.

But basically I wanted to report them(guess kinda silly since no solid evidence, was a long time ago), but then I was also thinking if he still is involved in boyscouts or any other kids programs I should let the others involved know what kind of person he is...they would do with the info what they want but don't have the names. Have seriously considered the animal shelter thing, just seems every time I do that it ends up not working out or I sort of get too nervous but I want to. Like last one I applied to volunteer at sceduled me for some classes i had to take before working with the animals(not that I am terrible at that, but whatever makes sense the want to make sure people have the right information to work with)....but had too much stress with applying for SSI and was meaning to let them know pretty ahead of time I couldn't make it and would have to wait till their next season of excepting volunteers before that first class....but ended up getting mixed up about what day it was on missed the class without telling them I would ahead of time....and then after the fact I sent an email to explain but never got a reply......I feel like I probably should look into others since based on that they might think i'd be unreliable at that facility so nervous about going back to that one.

I still don't understand the situation. You say the room was locked but you knew a cat was in there? Why did they get you to take care of their other pets while on vacation, but not this locked up cat?

I just don't understand the situation. I'm a cat lover too but are you even getting your facts right about this cat being locked in this room?

.

The family went out of town and had us come by and feed their pets every day for that time I think a dog some sort of reptile or something(can't quite remember what all they had)....the cat was also fed but with instructions not to be let out of the room, basically just give the cat a can of cat food....and if there where litter boxes in there(didn't get a good look at the inside of the room I doubt they ever cleaned them). But yes one of the family members at one point did verbally confirm the cat never was let out of the room as well.
