Not sure if many who saw their children go up in smoke at Auschwitz would agree....but Ok.

Among countless others who might be forgiven for having a slight problem with "perspective".

Depression is like sinking deep within murky water with a stone laid across your chest. You can accept it, and quit fighting, but with each passing moment it gets harder and harder to breathe. With every second you sink deeper, until you can no longer see any light before you. I have been to the sea floor, and I learned to swim. You know better than any of us what makes you happy and where your salvation may lie. Don't give up.

Until then

You'd be surprised.

Not necessarily in the case of others.

For me....I wouldn't be. Some things seem wholly unacceptable to me no matter how much i'm told to accept that which I cannot change.

The gassing and burning of children during the holocaust is just one of those things.

After all....hell is never supposed to be an acceptable place. And i'm obviously not the only one, in this group and elsewhere, who believes this world is hell.

Not literally of course...but it may as well be.

I felt the same way, when I was 15. I didn't feel that I had enough privileges, and I hated being with high school with my modern, with it peers.

I'm sorry you are hurting. Many hugs to you (if you like hugs, if not, then smiles to you).

Hang in there. Fight.

Take up an activity at which you get better over time. Leveling up in real life is very fulfilling. Suggestions: tennis, martial arts. Something where others judge your progress and rank you.

I have the same problem... when I idle, my brain becomes apathetic. I stop being able to enjoy anything. But after a physical activity where I feel progress, plus endorphins, plus social aspects... the air feels fresh again, the day looks bright, food tastes like it never tasted before... and so does Coca Cola.

... hey we are all sinners, okay ? ;)

I like all those songs. Forgive me if I'm telling you something you already know, but did you know the original version of hurt is by nin?

There's a tipping point and when you steel yourself for the fall, you'll settle into a nice, melancholy mood where you can survey the ruination around you, take a deep breath, and spy the scent of flowers in the muck.

In other words, weather the storm and you can enjoy a little sunshine.

Trust me, it's there.

For the record I would stop listening to acutely depressing songs when things are becoming unbearable.

Hi Robo 37,
Am also in a lot of pain at present.....physical, psychological/emotional, etc. Dealing with Aspergers and being in a relationship....many counselling sessions....very wearing in all dimensions.
Too much to deal with and no energy.
Because I'm actually receiving help in the form of counselling sessions, ( which means that my partner and i have to travel interstate and have intensive therapy sessions) it really knocks me out physically as well as mentally.
Then I'm left alone to deal with everyday responsibilities that leave no time for ME. My partner has to work 300kms away so that leaves not only feeling ALONE but being alone.

The only thing that keeps me going is the hope/belief that I'll be able to deal with life better after we complete a sufficient number of sessions. I really try to implement suggestions that come from the therapy sessions, I hope my partner will do likewise.
TIME and EFFORT will show the way!

Sometimes I'm still extremely depressed and despairing......and it scares me.....but I hang on to the hope that with the help we are getting things will improve. I know it will take time.

I remember your earlier despair before you went in to a psychiatric ward for depression....you were vert suicidal.

I know how you feel when like this because I feel like that too. It can be so dark and painful that it is impossible to believe all the bad will end. As another person said......the pain too will pass......and we won't be back where we were before it all....that would not be a good thing...we will move forward to another stage in development that will bring new things.....joys and yes sorrows.....we grow through the sorrows to find the NEWNESS of yet another STATE of BEING. I often have difficulty reminding myself of this when all seems dark and painful.

Best of luck in your journey and I hope something pretty comes your way today!
