For years I thought I was the most intelligent person I knew, and I was miserable the entire time. But over the past couple of years, I have come to find that I was wrong and may in fact be the dumbest person I know, but I am much happier now. Happy enough to not care if I really am as stupid as I think I am.

Just as long as you know what's best for you, your strengths and weakness, and how blessed to have the things that you have then you are intelligent enough.

Not saying that everyone should try to act stupid, I'm just saying (and it goes along with some of the other posts I've read) that intelligence isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) is not a fancy word for Paramedic. A Paramedic is a different job and a higher classification of an emergency medical response. I see you're in Florida, zelda. In Florida, most Firefighters are required to also be licensed EMTs. Some departments require them to also be licensed Paramedics and won't accept applications from Firefighters who are only licensed as EMTs. The difference may be slight to the average person who doesn't give a crap but the difference is crucial within the industry.

I'd recommend that my precious little hobbit not allow being an EMT to scare him. Settle into it and give it a couple years. You will still have a lot of time in a hospital as an EMT if you're employed by them. You can also pick up per diem shifts at the hospital if you are employed by a government department. You haven't even finished this step of becoming an EMT before you've gotten restless and you're ready to jump. Calm yourself down and see if you like being an EMT before you think about leaving it for something that requires more education.
